Imputed Income for travel stopped sometime in 2017 and even then it was inconsistent. Those that have been imputed lately did not complete expense reports on time or did them incorrectly. As far as I know that is the only way you can be imputed. I started in 16 and have never been imputed for anything.

I haven’t been imputed since being here, been here since last year. I heard of guys being imputed if they didn’t complete the expense reports.

Expense Report? What is this referring to? You can expense certain things while at work and submitted to the company?

Do you guys have all of your flying schedule and per-diem credit/pay calculations done on a computer system or (for example)?
I believe K4 still use a per-diem sheet that each pilot has to filled out each month to get pay on the per-diem?

Tyring to see which company might be a better fit?
Altas or K4 has a better overall contract?
I believe Altas has a better work rule compare to K4?
But the arbitration language is still in effect for the next contract?
Why at Altas, your per-diem is taxed as income?
How does most pilots at Atlas think about the fact that Atlas is hiring foreign pilots under the working visa for Austrialia?

Thanks

Each crewmember receives an Atlas Air credit card.
This card # is used (by the company) to pay for travel expenses and hotel rooms.
Some of these do and some of these don’t require a receipt.
At the end of the month we have to submit a Concur report with the charges on the card.
Frequently used hotels are mostly direct billing and ad hoc hotels require submitting a picture of a receipt.
Super easy once you bother reading the instructions.

0. Certain hotels bill to the company card instead of a central account. Same goes for most airfare, taxis/ubers, an occasional meal for the 737 crew, etc. You have to reconcile those expenses with receipts and submit a monthly expense report.

1. Yes it's all online. I've had very few problems with pay.

2. If your per diem exceeds the US General Services Administration (GSA) M&IE rate, the exceedance is taxable (this is an IRS thing, it has nothing to do with the company). The first $60-something per day is not, unless you did not stay overnight (day trip), then it's taxable, too.

3. Meh. I like Aussies, I've had good experiences.

What do the pilots at Atlas think of the current business, hiring, fleet, and 2022 and beyond?

Thanks again

Bro, how much time you have?
How much time you think we have?
Can you narrow down your questions a little.

Hop on a MIA-ICN and you’ll get a good gist from the 4 flying it during that time.

At this point, all the time in the world. Bascially, what would be a better choice? Atlas or Kalitta Air? I know both has pros and cons... but long term (with your best reasoning from working at Atlas and the CBA) which would you pick?

Obvisouly asking questions on the Atlas forum, I am leaning torward Atlas. I will apply to both and my choice of aircraft (in order of preference) are 747, 777, 767. Currently I have a good job as a Captain. Thinking very hard to move into cargo flying, not 100% sure. I had international flying on the 742 Classic over a decaded ago and enjoyed the life style. I moved into 121 passenger flying thinking it will be better. Now thinking back... I would rather stay in the cargo realm. I actually was going to try to switch around 2014 but family and personal matters hinder the timeline due to working full time (besides work) taking care of all the family and personal situation until 2019! During the pandemic, I did not want to try to make a change because I did not know if the time was right? Plus with the family matters just being taken care of... I wanted some break in time just to make sure all is OK.

Thanks

I see you, too, are a fan of the impossible to currently answer question.

Yeah this sounds like a relationship/family question as much as anything else. Couldn’t even begin to say without you spilling beans about the family situation and I’d advise you never spill that on an Internet forum. Looks like you’re at AK right now, per this post left seat…there’s a lot of guys that would kill for that living on the left coast. I think a mod or two flies for them. At the same time, I’ve got a very generalized view of the seniority outlook…wouldn’t be pretty for me at AK today if I got a call, right seat forever or until I might have to worry about medical issues. (Speaking of which, we have 3 year loss of license, max - what is your current situation?). I don’t know that Atlas won’t be that way for you, either, especially at this juncture and depending on the time you have left and whatever does or does not happen with growth. Are you okay with slinging gear for someone else now that you’re ‘the dude’? Would you fly a prime air 73 in the left seat for less than you currently make?

What kind of flying do you want to do? You’re in a position to know. Compared to Kalitta, I think Atlas has advantages in terms of size and diversification of contracts, but on some level we’re still in the regional game, in so far as we live and die by contracts (just like every ACMI) - even if they’re much longer term and more stable. Alaska does have the advantage of selling its own tickets, so to speak (and AA codeshare notwithstanding), but you guys don’t have great scope as I understand.

Tough call if you aren’t a fan of pax.
