Atlas Air Hiring
Atlas exam
Is Atlas still doing the exam before interview? There used to be a 50 question exam or something like that? Also I have a PRIA question. I left my previous US regional without 2 weeks notice due to a bereavement in my family which forced my hand and I had to resign which I did.
However when I went to my new job and they did a PRIA check it says I left INVOLUNTARILY due to a policy violation which is incorrect as I sent in a letter of resignation. I have pointed this out to them and am currently trying to get it changed to RESIGNED Voluntarily but obviously won’t be on the rehire list.
My question is if Atlas sees this before I can change it how bad is it likely to be for me with regards to getting employed there?
Obviously it’s better if they don’t see it but it is a genuine mistake on my previous airlines part but I don’t know if I will be able to fix it. Assuming I can’t (I’m trying) what is Atlas’ likely reaction to employing me?

….or called in unfit for work aka sick if bereavement leave wasn’t approved fast enough.
In any case I doubt it matters.
I would mention it in the HR interview if the “anything we should be aware of” question comes around.

I did not take bereavement because I ended up back in Australia having to help out there, I’m not discussing private family business on a public forum but at the time it became impossible for me to return to the US and continue my position. You will just have to take my word for it
There is no cover up here, just a genuine question regarding a mistake on their part and some helpful advice would be appreciated.
I only resigned after I got home so was unable to give 2 weeks notice because I was already home and had days off when I flew home anyway.

Whomever coded the system with ‘Reason this pilot quit’ they entered incorrect information and I don’t want to have to try explain something that is blatantly false. I’m not accusing them of any shenanigans, I’m saying they messed up and need to fix this, believe me it happens!
I am genuinly worried about this because it’s blatantly False, the was a code of 109 or something saying Resignation Involuntary due policy violation. I’m wondering if anybody else has had this and how they corrected it. So far the company is telling me I need to appeal, why should I appeal something that never happened!

I think the cause for appeal is that as you put it, the code was entered in error by the company. If you don't challenge via appeal or via other legal means it will remain on your file. Not sure how long ago this happened but maybe you can contact the CP office if you still know someone there? When Atlas or anyone does a background check it will show up perhaps, whether you are in the right or wrong. Now, it could remain in there and maybe a future employer won't care. That's a risk you will have to take if you don't have it changed to reflect what really happened. Also, how long a gap in employment after you left this company will be looked at. All the best.

Believe it or not I was making sure everything was in order for a possible Atlas job. In your opinion being Atlas pilots, how do you think they would react to this problem of mine we are discussing? Can it be explained away or is HR likely to send me the TBNT e-mail after an interview?

The latest vacancy notice shows 12 767 FO’s to ONT and 6 777 FO’s to LAX. If current pilots don’t take those spots, they will go to new hires.
Junior base on the 767 bounces back and forth between ONT and CVG…same with LAX and CVG on the 777.
As Elevation indicated, 747 LAX might take a little bit longer…but probably not a lot.

Anyone for the nov 16th B767 class?
