Atlas Air Hiring
When they bought GSS in Stansted to get their foot in the EU door in 2001. The junior base when I was hired was STN. Was gone when I got back from furlough in 2010. Since then as pointed out they’ve had Connie fly trips they couldn’t cover.

Hi guys, I work for a SE Asian airline that has been hit hard by COVID (think permanent 40-60%pay cut). As such a lot of guys are looking for exit strategies. The following messages have been doing the rounds on WhatsApp etc, but just thought I'd get some perspective here.
I went to the meet and greet with Atlas Air in Anchorage on Oct 12th.
Very friendly as one would expect
They do 17 day rosters. You have the choice of doing it in one block or breaking it in to two.
Commuting - they will buy you a confirmed ticket to/from base to your home. Junior base on 747 is ANC.
Seat locked for 18 months - after that can bid to different fleet. Senior base on 747 is MIA.
Standard health/dental/vision
401K - you put in 10% - they put in about 6%
Fully vested 100% after 3 years
The Chief Pilot - XXX-XXX - stated they need about 500 pilots for 2022 - they want ** pilots.
Interview is via Zoom. Two interviews - first is a meet and greet. Sexond comprises a HR and Tech element.
Most F/Os are doing about 80+ hours per month
They do Outbasing - two ports they mentioned were ICN and Hann Germany. Average cresit hours for those about 140-160 at the block hour rate. They take care of the hotel. No issues with foreign taxes.
Training pay is $1600 per month for about 2-3 months ie until check to line.
They will be sponsoring foreign citizens for a non immigrant work visa - provided they have an FAA ATP. They will integrate a conversion into the training type rating in the future - but right now - must have ATP for a conditional offer of employment for sponsorship on a visa
To apply - fill out the Atlas Air app on their website - then email:
XXX
Send your CV / FAA license copies / etc etc to him.
I confirmed with him if it was okay to pass out his email address and he said yes, pass it on to all ** drivers.
From the Atlas CP regarding the visa sponsorship: ‘We have a firm that works only on the visa issue. We have sponsored a number of people (mostly Aussies) and I’ve seen it as quick as 90days.’
Anyone interested can email the Atlas 747 CP directly (with CV attached):
[email protected]
I was asked by him directly to share his details, so this is not confidential, also ok to share outside 👍
‘We are going to try and take as many of you as we can. I have to hire over 500 to support our growth. So send anyone my way please! Everyone we have hired from ** has done amazing for us.’
Just curious how much of this is true v standard management spin, especially the with regards to hiring 500 pilots and Visas. I've also heard Atlas is losing 50/month to majors, is that true?

If you bid and get an outbase, don’t plan on spending much time there. FAA rules require extended rest when you return to your base if you’ve flown a 12 hour leg so Scheduling will work to keep you away if you’ve done long flights.
You should probably plan on the training pay for 4 months.
They've had over 400 resignations this year with over 50 just last month.
