The opportunities are there, but you have to have seniority. I’ve haven’t had much luck, the time I was trying to get some I couldn’t. The time that I was offered OT, I couldn’t do it.

What does anyone think about the future of Atlas? Growth? Stagnation? Gaining/losing contracts?

There must be a lot of changes with the joint CBA and a seniority list integration. Longer upgrade times perhaps?

I know all the answers will be speculation, but anything helps. Trying to determine if I should come to Atlas or continue staying put at the regional until I get more TPIC.

Stay put and continue building that TPIC

Agree. If you have some other outfit as the target/destination pax airline as your priority, stay put and build that TPIC. If you have Purple/Brown motivation, having had Atlas blood in the water has been very successful, but pax carriers do almost as well it seems. Growth, longevity or stability is anyone’s guess and it has always been 52 card pickup in this industry some better than others obviously. Here today, furloughed or sold/toast tomorrow and we have met many with TWA, Pan Am, Eastern, Braniff, etc. cards or former USAir/Northwest/Continental folks still upset to be sure . Current tide of hiring is strong so your dream job awaits, but if you are actually interested in the ACMI type lifestyle then maybe it’s for you. Many things aren’t shiny here and some things are shiny for some, it’s just a matter of where your pain level/priorities are. We don’t have A, B or C but we do have D and F as some would say. With all the information available you probably have a good idea what’s right for you aside from upgrade times here. Someone else can do much better with a growth guess and the updated seniority list which I haven’t looked at yet.

Hiring will continue apace. So figure another 20-30/month. You should be competitive, but hiring is a weird animal.

I don't see any harm in applying and simply informing them of your availability. Unless you are suggesting that you can only interview after March 2022. In any case for home basing you also have a few other choices such as Omni, Kalitta, etc in addition to Atlas. I would apply to several and see what results. Good luck.

What about 135 outfits vs Atlas? If 121 is target ( cargo or legacies), would Atlas be more advantageous?
Trying to decide if I want to pay the heavy contract termination fee of my current 135 outfit and join Atlas ( I’m really is excited about the life and flying for Atlas, honesty) or stay put in 135 world for another year.

Thanks again!

Seniority is everything, and a big churn of pilots will happen when we are able to bid across fleets. I guess it depends on how much they 135 company will charge you.

Following up on Elevation’s post: how much (if any) TPIC time do you have / are you acquiring at your current outfit?
