At FedEx you really don't have to do that though... The jumpseats on company are usually wide open. You just jumpseat in to work and you're protected by the contract. I'd much rather jumpseat on FedEx than those brutal coach tickets going JAN-DFW-PHX-ANC. The domestic guys will jumpseat in for a flight and go straight to work. They don't even need crashpads or airport cars.
My first crash pad at FedEx was $250 a month. Because of imputed income it's more expensive to commute to Atlas for many.... Then FedEx paid to move me to MEM so I no longer even have to commute. It really should be a no brainer.

Not a single cent.

I've been imputed a little recently, so it's still happening. It's usually avoidable and not routinely tied to gateway travel.
The big discussion here seems to forming around whether it's better to stay at Atlas or go to FedEx. That's a no-brainer. I think the question is tougher for those staring at a 5 hr commute to a base with Alaska, Frontier etc. For those folks it may genuinely be a toss-up.

Personally, I won't go to a pax only airline. FedEx or UPS... well, if that job offer ever came, it would be a no-brainer. Unfortunately, it hasn't come yet. So here I sit, a lowly mid-pack FO on the whale, trying to make the best of it while I can.
YMMV.

Actually... I heard about that... Supposedly they stopped doing it following a Retirement Grievance that they were going to lose where they were Imputing Income, throwing it in the Gross Income column, and not deducting the 10% of retirement so they could avoid the 5% match. I wonder if the tax laws have changed or if they're just forgetting....
