I was told it was an HR issue. There was suppose to be quite a few contract instructors in that class, and it was changed last minute as instructors may be coming in house now or evaluating their current instructors.

Wow! That's gotta be a record! Welcome to the party. Words of advice, given to me by my mentor during my 1st year- "this place ain't perfect, it's no Brown or Purple, but the paycheck is always on time and hasn't bounced yet. Manage your expectations, and live within your means, and your time here will actually be pretty enjoyable."

Well done Dera! Enjoy the Goodness we do have here and drive thru the issues at hand, it’s not rocket science defining what they are and the improvements needed. We are not Brown nor Purple as stated before or like any Major, but go look at their chatter boards - no place is perfect. May you enjoy your time with us and go wherever suits you the best. Nothing in this industry is one size fits all and everyone’s priorities are different. Attitude is everything.
Maybe posted already:

As everyone returns to service it’s getting tougher and tougher to fill I’m sure.

been “under review” for 3 months now with 3 internals 🤷🏻♂️3200tt. Can’t be that tough yet.
Well, the folks coming in will leave during or even prior to class as before. Just met another former Compass or Trans State guy (can’t remember) a couple of weeks ago and he’s got a CJO from FedEx so the trickle will probably become steady once again in the not too distant future. You should check back in with them, sometimes things get lost in the weeds.

The pay and work rules are now the worst in the entire industry; and arbitration may cause it to be that way permanently. Overall it wasn’t doom and gloom, but you are worth a ton more.
Layover hotels weren’t perfect everywhere, but generally were good to great, as crew rest is the real reason for the comfort. International travel was always business or better for the same reason - and mostly enjoyable.
When you get home though...whew, it’s a couple days of hard nap time. Not sure how anyone stays alive to retirement.
Fun.
I ride on Brown and Purple often - they do a different job all together, but I think the Atlas job was more fun/adventure. They do have great perks, and it’s still a goal.

Atlas isn’t for everyone, but I haven’t loved a plane or a job more. Had a blast for the 3 years I was there - left only for a paycheck. If you are flexible and adventurous, it’s a blast.
