In my 7 years at 5Y I was averaging 17 days a month gone for 15.5 days of pay. I was gone as many as 18.5 days counting commutes to ANC and paid as little as 62 hours min guarantee for a full 17 days in situations involving training. I hope that helps.
That said, you'll more than likely have no choice in terms of picking airframes. If they need 747 FOs, you could just as easily get ANC 747.
Not sure why anyone thinks ONT would close, by the way; it's expanding. I'll say it is nice having a west coast 767 base (finally).

Well... it happened, not even deep into the 4th qtr.
Wrapping up a 17 day pattern ( 18 if you include day one travel ). On day 16 I get my wake up call, check my PCD and BAM.. 3 day extension over my "X" days.
I call into scheduling, "sorry sir you're the only one, and you must fly this trip, and you're on a RSV pattern so it's legal"
Man scheduling plays dumb about the CBA except the parts they have absolute power over us on.
When another person on the other end of the phone, says you MUST do this, all the while being paid 50% less than your peers, it speaks volumes.
All in told this will be a 21 day trip, hopefully I'll be able to travel home as to not make it 22 days out.
ALL OUT!

To be fair, how can you really be surprised or even upset if you bid an R2 line during the 4th quarter and got extended? Its practically guaranteed you will be from the moment you bid that line. If you don't want to be extended, or at least a substantially lower chance of it, then don't bid R2....especially in the 4th quarter.
Good forbid I need a certain day off... so I paid for it with a 21/22 day trip.
Apps updated, All out. This place is a moral beatdown. It's too bad.

of the year and not be upset about it? This is a great precautionary tale for the few select lowtime, turboprop guys still applying to work for this 20th century contract. You’re better off going to a regional with days off and a flow-thru.

Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.
Just a little humor to the thread.
