It's amazing how many pro company stooges we have in our ranks who are happy with the status quo. I fly with them on occasion, and they sound just as cringe worthy in the flight deck as they do here. This place is falling apart, and they'll sing it's praises until the wheels come off, while lambasting the ones trying to help. What a mess.

Definitely not happy with the "status quo". Been working on the union side for decades to make things better for guys like you to come to Atlas complain, attack fellow members because they don't applaud the latest Poobah's repeatedly failed strategy tried elsewhere and then watch you leave for UPS.
You got that right, but we do have a cult like following started here!
Well, I don't really consider the main ones leaders in the union sense. More like gang leaders. They do what they want, they do not know what "duty of fair representation" is, they have removed most access for the members to be heard (such as the union forums), used outside resources (facebook) for communications so they can censor and ban members which would be against the bylaws/constitution if it was on property, have used their committees ordering them to go after members for not voting their way on bylaws, etc. So, "Who stabbed who first?"
I was brought up thinking the union was supposed to be there for all the members and not to leave anyone behind. This current administration doesn't. They work on the idea of eating our own first. Makes the rest of the gang feel good that they can abuse our own since it's harder to move the company on a contract. They have worked guys up to the point some have been taken hostage by the company and got fired. Just collateral damage in their eyes.
As union members, we have to be thugs at times to make a point. Just being thugs doesn't make us a union.
It's been a while. Kind of forgot where we left it.
You shouldn't be so mad. This info will make prospective pilots stay away from Atlas as the many other posters under your direction have posted.

They’re by no means holy
That is ..."pro union" ... busy stabbing union leaders in the back!

Do you really want to start this AGAIN?
- You shopped around at 1224 legal to take action against me were they said paraphrasing "If it's the truth, we can't do anything".
- Then we had a kumbaya call where you threatened to turn me into the company for harassment after #1 above if I wouldn't stop bringing up the issue at hand. I capitulated hoping we could get back to real union business and get along.
- You and some of your supporters then made it up here on these forums that I turned you in for harassment of a FA to the company when it was actually a flight attendant's complaint that did it. Funnier still, many of those same supporters participated with the FPL bylaw and voted for the FPL bylaw since you couldn't keep your transparency campaign promise. Thanks IP tracing! It keeps everyone more honest and outed.
- You took part as one of the ExCo on a P2P call in which the committee was told to go after the FPL bylaw supporters and specifically me by name along with Bob's slandering of us.
- I got publicly investigated along with a number of identified supporters initiated by the ExCo and their supporters for various charges after the FPL amendment passed under our direction in which everyone was exonerated but that wasn't mentioned out loud by you guys on the ExCo.
- I think there were other threats of suing, rants of me being a liar, saying I'm fake by you and some of your remaining supporters etc, but that kind of falls back to #1.
- Forgot to mention that the union wasn't there for a few others and me lately using the emergency number. So much for "Duty of Fair representation". Can't say if it was withholding of union services, lack of coverage by paid volunteers or incompetence. Checked the last LM-2. Another record year for flight pay loss expenses. Luckily not the same tremendous increase started at the beginning of the Kirchner Administration you started with.
You shouldn't be so mad. This info will make prospective pilots stay away from Atlas as the many other posters under your direction have posted.

I have never flown with a "pro-company stooge" nor have I ever heard anybody "sing praises while lambasting those who don't....." about the company. I have also never flown with an over the top pro-union guy either. The flight deck dynamic is quite different than the atmosphere here. Everyone I have flown with has the viewpoint that we indeed need a contract and better pay and all that but they are taken aback with the union rhetoric. That is not to say that any of the guys and gals that I have flown with disagree with the union but are just a little surprised with the union politics of intentionally injecting hysteria into the contractual argument. From the line, no person that I have flown with actually says these things mentioned here on this thread or this forum, "...this place is falling apart", and "...Atlas is a mess, I can't wait to get out of here"! NO DOUBT that the union message is being received out on the line but make no mistake, from a style perspective, it is not all positive.
And before you union dogs come to chew my leg off, take for a minute to pontificate what is being said rather than mauling the messenger. I am actually doing you a favor!!!! I am just reporting what I see!
There are a great many number of lurkers out there that utilize social media to gather information but are afraid to post, or don't know how or just don't, and there are a great many more that don't even use social media. If I were truly seeking honest feedback, I'd start at the anonymous forums and hope a brave sole would speak up to answer hard questions.

Dave, your experience is a different reality than that of myself. When I come to work I experience a profoundly toxic environment with pilots stressed to the breaking point by a company that displays contempt for its employees. I am sincerely envious of your contentment with your employment. I hope I can find that happiness again someday, I have known it in the past. I don't think I can ever reconcile the damage that has been done between myself and Atlas so I will be leaving when the opportunity arrives.

I am sincerely sorry that you feel that way. I do know what it feels like to be under-appreciated as was the case in a previous career. There however, I was not just a seniority number under a CBA. Perhaps that is how I can reconcile the current contract struggle. I am happy in life, not particularly with the state of things at Atlas though. As I have stated before, I too will be leaving if/when I reach that pre-determined point of diminishing returns, otherwise I'll stay. Good luck.

Sorry to see that things are status quo there. But you all just keep paying that 2.5% so Bob and his close buddies can keep eating the prime rib and king prawns on your dime! If and when you ever see the light and get some real leadership, maybe things will change.

Please tell me where you work! You sound like a pilot making top dollar for your experience. Apparently it's somewhere that has REAL leadership that works hard to negotiate and enforce that for the group, for free. Sweet deal!
