It used to be in a company manual that the flights shall be catered with coffee. They took that out recently. Yes it's true, they don't put coffee on all the flights and can discipline you if refuse to go without it. Also they will often just put sanka or decaf on, I assume because they get it for nothing since no one would want that ****. It's no exaggeration. I know newhires want to pretend like it's not bad here and are desperately trying to satisfy their confirmation bias, but it really is bad, and has only gotten worse over time. Atlas is a ticking time bomb in so many ways, there's a real danger of it being bankrupted through corrupt mismanagement and/or a massive labor dispute. Do you think 10 year captains are bailing because it's hunky dory?
The company apparently claims that they delayed the flight despite clear documentation that late freight was the cause for the delay.
It appears that they are hostages in the current contract war and their reinstatement may be a part of the company strategy for demanding concessions from the pilots.
This place is toxic!

Hey 5Y, I apologize if this has been recently asked. I’m wondering if somebody could give me any insight on junior base and maybe schedules specifically out of ANC (which I understand to be the junior base?). Last time I rode with you guys the FO showed me his schedule and it was better than mine at a regional. I’ve heard horror stories about 18+ days gone, but now I’m hearing bits and pieces about guys being able to break that up nicely. Any truth? Thanks!

Gatewaying to ANC and expect to be gone 18-19 days a month minimum counting the gateway travel days. There are lines that split that time up between 1, 2 or even 3 trips a month. Going for the split lines and you may not be gone 18 days straight but you'll be gone more total for the month because you add in extra gateway commuting days. Junior there's no telling what you'll get, and 18 days straight isn't even worst case. People fail at bidding 101 and end up with two 17 day trips back to back or without enough days between to make a gateway back and forth possible or worth while and now you won't step foot at home for 35-36+ days. The bidding 101 is if you don't want it don't bid it, get junior assigned a line that does that to you and they have to adjust the line to give you 7 days off in between the two trips.

If you're Gatewaying into ANC with 3 trips a month expect to be gone something like 21 days a month. It takes most people multiple connections to get To/From ANC and now you must be there with a minimum of 10 hours preduty rest. Those lines will probably go Junior too.
So if you live in ANC though.....

Buyer beware....the contract says you cannot be awarded MORE than 17 CONSECUTIVE days without a 7 day break. Their solution is to give you 17 duty days....one day off.....and then another 17 duty days. Their argument is that they have not assigned MORE than 17 consecutive days and thus you are NOT entitled to 7 days between assignments. Ask me how I know....they did this to me. That's how they roll and that is what this company thinks of it pilots.
