So where are all the FO going after few years if they haven’t upgraded to PIC?

Are they sticking around for a while?

Negotiating committee just updated us today with the latest round of negotiations. The company came back with several concessionary offers and demands from the pilots. Just absolutely mind blowing in the current pilot market we are in. I would say if you come here do not expect a new contract anytime soon unless we lose the lawsuit, at which point concessions (I Can't believe I am actually acknowledging this) is a very real possibility. During a pilot shortage, no less. This may be truly the most disconnected management group I've ever seen in my life!
It is mind boggling. According to a K4 FO in another thread he said he made around $120k his first year and he had an friend who made at least $145k as FO his second year even after using all of his vacation and days off. In this instance, K4 pilots are making at least twice as much as Atlas pilots.

Management literally just got done trying to convince a judge, their customers, the media & the shareholders that they were actively participating in fair & equitable contract negotiations to ensure future success via a well staffed operation & that this is a destination airline for pilots.

Now this.

The advice I just gave to a friend of mine enquiring about applying, is the same that I would give to to all my fellow professional pilots: Why would you reward such bad behavior? And this is truly bad behavior.

These guys paid themselves more than some of the legacy airlines recently & yet pay the line pilots 60% less. Now they want the pilots to give up even more? In a booming cargo market & ever increasing pilot shortage? Please note: Our brothers & sisters at Southern have been toiling away under a truly ridiculous CBA forced upon them by a bankruptcy court - THAT is already a concessionary contract. Now they are coming for another pound of flesh? Let that sink in.

Do yourself, your family & the piloting profession all a favor and spend your limited time, energy & resources seeking out an employer that truly respects & values your dedication, hard work and skills (in deeds and not simply lip service). Your skills are in demand - the market reflects this and almost all other companies are reacting to this reality in a positive way. Sadly, some are not only intent on being stuck firmly in the mud but actively striving to drag our profession back into the dark ages.

They are only doing this because they believe pilots are easily manipulated and keep showing up at their doorstep. When that is no longer the case their behavior will change as well.

You do get a vote in this.

Sad state of affairs at Atlas, negotiators canceled January sessions since Atlas not negotiating in good faith.
Do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else where you're appreciated and paid well. Atlas wants you to be gone all the time and work for free.

The band is playing and the life boats are going out.

Well the worlds most anti labor pilot hating douche (until this mob showed their true colors) just had to eat an Ostrich sized crow. O'Leary of Ryan Air in Europe conceded to the unionization of his Pilots, something he swore he would NEVER DO. The global pilot shortage forced this clown to face reality.....so that makes O'Leary and Connie more enlightened than Atlas management and just proves that we all "get a vote in this." The road will be tough as it was for the Kalitta pilots and the Ryanair pilots......stay the course.....ALL IN....we will get what we deserve even if that means we all end up at another Airline.

I believe most Atlas pilots leaving are going to DAL/UAL/FedEx/UPS. A number of captains have been leaving in addition to FOs. Just flew with a 19? year capt who just got put into a pool. Some going to SWA, also. We have had a good number of brand new captains leaving, also. Have had a lot of FOs leaving during their first six months at Atlas.

I don't want a divorce and I'd like my daughter to know my name. You'll be gone more than 20 days a month from home if you'd like to do that. Keep in mind that on 2nd year you could be gone 20+ days a month and maybe break $120,000 for the year, but the same schedule at a real airline would have you breaking more than $200K as a 2nd year FO. You'll be tearing your body up while you do that too. I need the time off to recover as well....

The CBA is horrible and this week the company had the nerve to spend the entire week asking for concessions. Find a regional with flow. Go there.

Depends on the resume. Upgrading here does look much better, but you'll be here 3 years or more to do that considering they've hired like 700 pilots in the last two years.

The 767 upgrade just went down to 2 years and 3 months.

True- however we have hired a ton guys between the most junior CA and the lastest new hire. Based on a few more airframes left come- I don't see a new hire upgrading for 4-5 years at best.

Many 747 FO's have by passed 767 CA.
