Ah, no. That's like saying we can walk because they changed the FOM. The contract references the GAM, it doesn't reference the catering standards of the GAM as of the date of signing of the contract.

The mind boggles at the lack of imagination and predictable tactics these Harvard MBA bozos keep rolling out. It's truly laughable that Connie Kalitta has turned out to be the only visionary in the market. He was out hustling deals in a bar while these clowns were studying for the bar. Truly pathetic that they think the pilots will cower to their tactics. Business men take care of business and negotiate with their largest employee group. Lawyers hide and try to make the courts do their job but pocket millions pretending to be business men.

He wasn't visionary, as far as the last contract goes. He gave his last/best final offer to the union, and they said no. He stopped negotiating. When he realized that X number of his planes would be parked on ramps gathering dust for lack of crews, he came back to the union with a reasonable offer, which is their new contract. It was only because of the Pilot Shortage that they got a decent contract, not because of Connie.

Our contract exists because of lots of people.. not the least of which is our NC, the support of 1224, the support of our pilots... and David Bourne and Connie Kalitta sitting down and agreeing on the final deal when it looked like it couldn't be done.... so Cliff... please.. keep your comments to things you know about......

You get it sometime during the first week or so. However, it's not advisable to jumpseat home during training. You won't necessarily have weekends off and the schedule could change on a daily basis. You don't want to be in another state or miss a jumpseat when something pops up on your schedule for tomorrow. Also, there's plenty to study and not much time for the distractions of travelling home.
