55 Open Time trips in March. I bet it hits around 100 next month. It's gonna go up exponentially. They're pulling people off the line to upgrade and we've lost a **** load of people...

Good luck, but with the amount of your guys leaving and looking to leave, I doubt you will have the unity to pull off any type of open time "ban".

Guys that are looking to leave are interested in short term goals, like making the most money they can (by flying open time) and don't care about the long term of the pilot group or the company because they figure (hope) to be going to a better carrier.

This is exactly what the union is vocal about right now.

Do you agree that there's been a shift last month and it's starting to fall apart? Scheduling and travel are completely swamped and there's a TON of delayed flights. A ton of people I know (guys I consider our best) bolted in the last 6 weeks.

To tell you the truth, I haven't been following any of it. I've been off for a month.....(one week vacay).

Honestly, I can't gauge if/when the wheels will fall off or if they've fallen off and I am along for the ride. I updated my apps this week to UPS and Fedex. Fingers crossed.

What is the latest and greatest about the Union contract. Any idea how much longer to negotiations? Question , it is true the company offered compensation higher than Kalitta but less than Fedex.????

The company has not offered any compensation proposal to our NC. I know that for a fact. They made an off handed comment referencing the above in a Captain upgrade class. This was the same class that when asked why we don't bring Southern up to our pay and CBA for the time being until we get a new contract, JD's response was: "why would I do that? I'm a business man".

The latest is that the company is still suing the union... The judge set milestone dates for briefs and rebuttals, etc... in reference to company request for a summary judgment and union request for dismissal, those dates run through 20 Jul. At the end of the lawyer enrichment program just described, the judge will rule (after a few months) to neither dismiss nor provide a summary judgement and a trial date will be set for sometime in 2018. In the mean time zero negotiations between union negotiating team and company have transpired nor will they as that would serve to undermine the company's case that section 6 negotiations are not appropriate and we wouldn't participate in their amalgamation process. All the while attrition continues to accelerate. January was a bit alarming as over a month worth of hiring was wiped out by attrition. Feb wasn't as bad, but March was hideous and April is off to a fast start with chunks of classes at other carriers containing former pilots from our ranks.

Lastly, if an offer (rather unlikely) were made, we wouldn't know until there's a TA or the company sends us one of their e-mails followed by a hard copy letter in a padded envelope (neither received). No need to publicly debate and fight over the merits of what was offered, that's the negotiating team's job. That's why they represent us. When their work is done we get our say (hopefully) by voting on their work.

^^^^^^^ well said.

The only thing the company has offered is a sword to fall on.
