OK. You're right that we have different opinions about how to get there.
Those of us who have been burned by previous airlines and have few options for exiting this job tend to be more adamant about the situation at Atlas and want to see the change happen as soon as possible. IMHO, the best way to do this is to be adamant and blatant about the negatives here in order to apply pressure on the company. It may not seem like much of a strategy but it is what we have to fight this war with. OTOH, pilots who are leaving Atlas seem to be less energized about the troubles here. Hopefully sooner or later we'll all end up in a better place than where we are now. It's just that for some of us, it'll be much, much later. 8 |

While on probation a new hire can be terminated for any reason and there is no recourse.
After probation the termination process involves a formal hearing that includes the company and union, much like a trial. |
I'm rooting for you guys as I'm sure most of the pilot group in the industry is. It's about time that we all get treated and paid more fairly for what the profession entails. The ball is in our court so I think it's just a matter of time before they realize they need you more than you need them.

Understood. There's a lot of passion in our group, which is good, but just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it's not there.

That being said, I hope Atlas stays afloat long enough for me to get to that next seat as I would think anyone would. The guys that are leaving that are not as energized about this movement is because in their minds, they have already left or they were never here. But those are few and far between. Like Tahoe said, I think there is a lot of passion out there and I think our message is being sent. I don't think management reads these forums and if they do, I don't think they care....obviously. But, I think we are out of our league in my opinion. The company always seems to get what they want. Just ask the Polar or Atlas guys when they were stand alone, or even you 8! I am sure you have seem companies GUT airlines just to line their pockets. (66 mil) |

NOT according to them! They deny the pilot shortage at every opportunity. |

Nine (9) Atlas pilots started class at UPS on Mar. 27. Are similar numbers getting hired at other airlines?

I think he's asking for verification about the Check Airman meeting. Either way, circumstance may force Atlas to get to the table! |
