Everyone: thanks for the great feedback and food for thought!
Plift: this is exactly what I was looking/hoping for re: Asia lines with the DH to/from ANC. How senior are they? Can i reasonably expect to get them awarded as a junior 76 FO.

I'm often checking flightaware out of curiosity and never see the 767 doing anything but domestic and occasional Europe.. do they block tracking some flights?
No biggie, just curious..
Other than some mil pax charters the 76 doesn't fly back and fourth to Asia. The lines I was talking about start the 76 flying out of Asia but since you are based in CVG they build a deadhead on a 74 day 1 to get over to Narita or Taipei. For somebody in anchorage they can just catch a shorter/later flight out of there.

I've been on the 74, and for an Anchorage local I'd definitely ask nicely if you could defer for a 74 class. Just explain that you think it would be best for both you and the company since you live there but that you would take a 76 class if it's not possible to defer.

I have asked some 76 guys how senior the Asia flying goes and was told its a mix of seniority. However looking at the latest bid awards it doesn't look like any very junior guys got it. If you were hired onto the 76 soon you should move up in seniority quick since most of the growth next year should be on it.

Atlas has hub(s) in Asia that the 767 flies out of...

Seems like you might want to call up KF, and ask her if you can
Be considered for a 747 Class!

But, You DIDN'T HEAR THIS FROM ME!
😉👍🏾
I contacted KF about a 747 class that started a week after my availability. She told me that class was 3 classes away and she had to fill the classes prior before she could offer me a spot in that class. I went online and purchased an edible arrangement and sent it to her in Purchase. The next day I got a phone call telling me I had an "unofficial" spot in the class I wanted....

YMMV

LPT. Be nice. Do not throw people under the bus.

Who knows what happened behind the scenes. But in the front of it you just threw KF under the bus -- big time. Her boss most certainly reads these posts. And they know who you are.

And they know who I am. But they know that I do not care, which is a privilege that comes with being old. Neither of you are in that position.

Excellent point. I obviously did not think of that.

Tenacvols,

Although it initially seemed like a good idea, I retract my saying "nice" (too late to edit). In addition to throwing KF under the bus, you may have thrown yourself under as well.

Sounds like blatant brown nosing. So, when does the back door deals with management/scheduling/training/etc. start? As other posters put it, your throwing people under the bus - already. Your not even full in the door yet! So I bet you'll be throwing your union/crew member brethren under the same bus in short order. Scr*w everybody else, as long as you get what you want, what does it matter.

This is going to be interesting to watch.
