Atlas Air Hiring
Hey guys just got back from my interview in White Plains. I still haven't heard back yet but I think all went well. Its definitely a suit and tie event in case you were trying to figure that out. Read up on NAT and SLOP and be prepared for questions about loss of pressurization on NAT routes as they were common questions. Also there could be a lost comms question on a STAR, before you rattle off the lost comms procedure make sure it isn't depicted in text on the chart he shows you.
Some other questions involve holding speeds, when you can continue an approach in England in bad weather (apparently its different) can VMCG be higher than V1? There were a fair number of questions involving RVR so study up on that as well. Other than that its not too bad. They are all pretty laid back and I think they mostly want to see if they could fly with you for 20 days straight. Hope this helps PM me if you have any questions.

Just got a panic stricken email from Atlas management, due to the Kalitta TA, blaming the Union for our lack of progress in negotiations. PATHETIC. My guess is they had two drafts ready to go today. One if Kalitta were going to strike and this feeble propaganda effort if they got a TA. Let the games truly begin. The 4th quarter is going to be a boondoggle.

Runsky If you're serious, go back a couple pages. Long wait for OE right now, most folks are making between 35-45k gross in their first year.
It gets better in year 2 but not by much.
If a recruiter really said 95 and you're not trolling (which I'm guessing you may be..?) they maybe meant for captains...

Maybe 95K is possible if you are never sick, if you sell your vacation back to the company, make it through training non-stop, and pick up open time trips, but nobody is actually seeing anything even close to that.
BTW, Kalitta has a TA with min hourly guarantee higher than Atlas and 1st year pay at $101/hr vs. Atlas 1st year pay at $79.
Let that sink in ... Kalitta is now a much better destination airline than Atlas.
Great for them.
Sux for us.
