Like I said, the HR and Flight Ops folks can sniff it out pretty good. None of this is intended to comment on anyone who has posted, just something to understand.

No shortage of resumes. They have however, refined the sniffer. A couple of folks went through the cycle, got the ticket and punched out. Besides the cost, that's a couple of people that were needed on the line who are not there. So as has been said before, if you don't think you'll like the flying, don't apply. Don't expect it to be like domestic gigs. If you think you will be able to get in and game the system...many have tried. If your spouse can't handle things while you are gone, or either of you expects to come off a trip and go home for something short of a critical situation...it's not the place you should be.

Nicely said...if you think a four-day trip is a long one, this gig ain't for you. Don't kid yourself, and give someone else a chance.
It is great to fly a 747 but if it is the lifestyle that you can't put up with, then it matters not which airplane you are flying...
This kind of flying is NOT for everyone...good luck.

Where did/are you flying 727? That was one of my most favorite airplanes!!
There is an aviation job fair in Vegas this Friday and Atlas will be there. I already have my info in with an internal rec. and plenty of experience. Does anyone believe it's a worth while venture/expenditure?
Thanks

According to the Atlas rep during the interview, they have 4000 resumes on file. They have reviewed 1500 of them, interviewed 275 and hired 85 in the past 12 months.
Yes they are picky and may have turned away a few good candidates. That said, they have a VERY thorough interview process and everybody that you come into contact with has one form of input or another in the "score" that they assign to interviewees. So if those "perfect" candidates were horsing around behind the back of the tour guide or disrespectful of the low level office staff who were escorting them around and collecting paperwork, then they would probably not be invited to work there.

Absolutely...well said.
The best candidate (and others) are being "watched" at every stage of the game...as long as you remember that, the best candidates will get the nod.
Period.
If not, the others that might have a flaw or two, might make the right impression have a real chance at the swimming pool. The idea is for them to get to know you, the real you, AND for you to get to know the company and its operations, lifestyle, etc.
It is a two-way street...don't ever forget that. This flying is NOT for everyone. Those that are interviewing from the Regional, and Corporate, domestic backgrounds must understand that the flying we do is not the same as what you are doing now.
Good luck.
