Exclamation Interviews to Class Dates

Gentlemen!

A very important question:

Successful interviews can expect to be offered a class how long after the interview date? What is the time from interview to indoc, or at least, what is the ballpark if unknown specifics?

Thank you all a ton for sharing the information here, need to know.

Before the calls for "read the recent posts" and "use the search function" come flying in your direction, I will give my case as a current swimmer in the pool: I interviewed on 1/20, received the pool letter 1/22 with everyone else. No communication yet on class dates for many of us. A few made it to class already. Hopefully calls will go out soon for the next classes in April.

Good luck to my fellow Poolies!

It depends. A couple of months seems about right lately.

There were also none awarded in December and today's vacancy award makes a minimum of six months with no upgrades awarded!

Not sure what you guys are looking at but the Atlas 2016-01 base bid awards published January 15th show 23 captain upgrade awards in the 747. There were 13 in the February 8 class and 10 for the March 10 class.

There were also 7 captain upgrades awarded in the 2015-12 base award.

And that sir is NOT true... It amazes me how people just seem to make stuff up sometimes... Six months, really? Do you read the awards or just go by what you hear? Not only has it not been 6 months but there were upgrades awarded in Dec per vacancy award rev 1 for that month and there's also been a vacancy award in 2016 with capt upgrades on the 747. The Jan 16 vacancy award (rev 1) has the most recent upgrades, none announced in Feb & none announced in March. As a matter of fact dudes from the Jan Vac award had Capt upgrade CRM class last Saturday (I know dudes in last 2 classes). BTW looks like there were some in November as well...

I imagine the reason being used for the slow down in announced upgrades is the OE backlog for both Capts and FOs. currently 124 peeps waiting for OE (both Positions). By my count that's almost 10% of the seniority list, seems like a lot...

I think it is fair to ask this question every few months or so. It seems to change about that often.

Actually the answer stays the same. Some pilots get called for a class that starts a week later (or less) and some wait for 3 - 5 months. The average seems to be about 6 - 8 weeks. It has been this way for a while now.

Can any recent hires refine this assessment?

I agree, its about week 8 swimming so far on my end. I think most of us from (1/19,21)January interview groups in MIA are still swimming plus a handfull of guys from the first group(1/18). If the class numbers stay on track based on the previously posted numbers and dates then shouldnt be to much longer i would guess. good luck.
