If you have seen those posts, have access to a calendar and can add 3, then you know all the proposed class dates. If you can add 6, then you even know the numbers for each class.
Yeah, figured that much. Just interesting to see how the dynamic has been changing. I know words on a forum can be taken at face value when there's a lot behind the scenes that is unmentioned. Just trying to compile all of the info out there and make the "right" decision.

Compare our gripes to gripes at other places. Every facet of life here has slid downhill in the last 3 years.
I'm not some miserable SOB venting on an anonymous message board. I'm in my 30s, and was hoping Atlas could be a place I could hang my hat at for a while. In fact, it makes me sick to my stomach to think that I might have to start over somewhere else. I'd stay if we got a fair contract. Really, I would.
But, I simply cannot justify staying here with management trying to play the Lorenzo game on us. There are simply better options.
^^^^^^^^^^^ Yeah, that...
As DC8 said above, I used to crow about Atlas...that has changed because I cannot in good conscience lure guys into this job any longer. All the guys on this thread have no axe to grind. We are only trying to post what we know to be a good job that has been ruined by a gang of guys in management that only want to line their pockets...the hardworking employees be damned. I cannot be part of bringing you here if this is going to continue...I am hopeful that I can crow about Atlas soon, but until then, I cannot recommend this job.

WAI booth
here is a picture taken by a Delta employee who was there. Empty booth at peak hours for Atlas Air. kinda hard to answer questions when no one is there.....
Also, to those going in for interviews soon: Because the pilots who normally work the booth boycotted the conference, management has removed the union reps from the HR/panel section of the interview. Classy stuff.
For the past few years, there was abundant optimism and excitement as the Atlas pilots here celebrated our company's growth and successes. The rising tide was lifting all ships in our rapidly expanding fleet. Our negotiations had started and we were looking forward to a good fight to win a industry standard contract. It was all possible.
Now, the Southern Air purchase, which could have turned out to be a real morale booster and a win-win situation for Atlas pilots, Southern pilots, AND Atlas shareholders, has turned into a sucker punch designed to catastrophically erode our pay and work rules. Atlas intends to amalgamate the Atlas and Southern contracts. Amalgamate; A legal but unconscionable way to bypass contract negotiations and a despicable way to treat hard working employees.
So, yes, my app is in at United, American, and UPS. While I despise the thought of another job search and the stress that my family will have to endure while I change airlines again, I will not continue to do this extremely difficult and dangerous job while I watch my future here deteriorate.
And if you are worried about your salt intake, PM me and I'll fill you in on all of the details personally.

I like this job. It isn't easy at all, but I really do like it. That said, what I don't like is the turn that Atlas management has made this year toward a very short sighted, dark, and greedy place.

Thank you for all the information. I have read this entire thread because I really thought Atlas was the place for me. I'm love international flying and the variety of the schedules, as long as you get the time off to recover from it. It's really depressing watching the tone of this thread go from enthusiastic encouragement to dire warnings. While I understand that forums must be taken with a grain of salt, I learned from my experience at Emirates that sometimes these forums aren't always an exaggeration and can actually be just the first dark cloud on the horizon. It's unfortunate because I think I would enjoy the Atlas lifestyle but I can't see working for sub par wages and conditions to endure what is admittedly a difficult lifestyle. Enjoyable or not
I will be turning down any offers to test or interview with Atlas until the employees are being compensated in an fair and appropriate manner that reflects the knowledge, skills, and motivation that are necessary to make an international wide body operation successful.
Good luck in your future Atlas pilots!
