This is not about some old bitter guys that want to hurt and damage the company...it is simply presenting what is a reality here.

And that is --

1. Atlas management is not willing to negotiate in good faith for our next CBA,
2. Atlas pilots' total compensation package pales in comparison to the majors (and while it may be better than where you are currently, it only means that you'll make your life a little better -- but make no mistake, you will not be rewarded the you'd be if you went to a major airline.)
3. The fight for the next CBA at Atlas is very real...they've tried to rip us apart by once again going through a merger, and their plan is to merge a crappy contract with a crappier contract.

Those are the facts.

This is not about how bad it is at the Regionals, or the freight-dog outfits in the rest of the world, etc etc -- at every stage in your career, one must expect and even demand respect from their employer, their industry, and their peers.

Atlas is not yet doing that...and that is the point here. If you come here (and I will welcome you all day long), know the facts and jump in to take on the fight (as I am sure all will do that).

It is indeed a great job, but not a destination job...it is not a career-making job. If you wanna help make it that, come on over.

Good luck.

Hear, hear. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see what the company is maneuvering to do with this acquisition. There are those that still have their heads in the sand that "this is a different situation than the last acquisition" but don't be so gullible. It is no coincidence. It is their best, cheapest way to keep the crew costs down. If you come on board be ready for a trench war of attrition. It will only get worse, and management is to blame.

Default Bases..

Regarding bases, I understand that ANC is currently the most junior..

But if anyone could help to provide a breakdown of the rest of the bases, from most junior to senior, it would be greatly appreciated!

- Thanks!

Gateway basing. Really not that big of a deal unless you commute to ANC.

Someone is going to hire me to fly a big friggin' airplane, fly internationally and pay me enough money to live on??? I fail to see the problem here.
Please, for the rest of us trying to improve this airline, adjust your attitude or pass on a class date.

This group will not stand for "good enough," and I can assure you as a guy on property, it's not just a few people "stirring the pot" on APC. This entire pilot group is angry.

Can someone shed some light on how gateway basing works? I live in the SFO area, and am interested in coming to Atlas. 10 year regional guy here, willing to fight tooth and nail for a better contract.

Got the call today!

February 29, 767.

Applied sometime in December, with three internal recs.
Job fair on January 8
Test email January 9
Interview January 20
"Preferential list" email January 22
Class date February 9

So everything happened very quickly! The deciding factors are *JOB FAIR* and internal recs. I chose the 747 as preferred (because of 2nd and 3rd year pay) but that I would start on whichever aircraft would be first available. Locking down a seniority # was more important to me than choosing a specific shiny jet.

Regional FO.
4,200 total time
2,300 turbine CRJ (zero turbine PIC)
Rest of the time mostly PIC as CFI, air ambulance pilot in Cessna 402, and part 135 commuter in BN-2 Islander.

Looking forward to join the team, and yes, 100% all in.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark that you're an OO pilot. Nobody is being a wise guy. There is a WEALTH of info in this thread. Go back to page one, just as we've all done, get a pot or three of coffee, and start reading. Nearly every question you have will be answered. Every. Single. One.
