Atlas Air Hiring
Age matters not these days...just take a look at DL, FDX, etc contracts...if you have ten years or so to be at a better place, why not?!! That is what I've been preaching to the youngsters at Atlas for several years now. And if we create a shortage for Atlas in the process, I'm fine with it...maybe they will feel the pressure to negotiate our next CBA and actually negotiate in good faith. So far in this cycle, they have failed to do that. So, I continue to preach any an all Atlas pilots to make the company feel the pain...that is the ONLY tool we have to convince the company that our CBA is woefully lacking, and at the same time give our Negotiating Committee the leeeeeeeverage they need to bring home a respectable agreement.
Good luck to those wanting to come here to better their lives...but if you are on the fence, ask the tough questions and make sure you know what you're getting into.

I did it last year. Just be honest and upfront with them. I pushed it from Jan to March due to a conflict with my wife's travel schedule.

Vague post....would you care to clarify by posting what you mean so that we don't have to take guesses?

Not to mention the importance of that seniority number, especially given the rate of hiring.

Sure. in late October I was contacted by HR at Atlas to take the online assessment. Which I did. I traded several emails and one phone call with lets call her "HR Rep A". After the assessment was complete she asked if I had recently done a PAQ, which I had, and to send directly to her an updated resume, which I did. Since that last contact up until this past saturday any and all of my attempts to contact HR at Atlas had gone unanswered. On this past Saturday, "HR Rep B" attempted to call me for a phone interview, I missed the call. I called back later that day, again on Sunday, Twice on Monday, and again on Tuesday morning because in the VM she left she specifically stated, PLEASE call me back when you are able. Which I did, leaving a message twice and not leaving a message twice. Tuesday early afternoon, I received an email from "HR Rep A" (original person from October) saying I was being moved along in the process and would I please take the assessment, she attached all the required information. I was somewhat taken aback seeing as I had already done this for "HR Rep A" over 2 months ago AND "HR Rep B" was trying to contact me for a phone interview. So, I emailed "A" back inquired as to my status. She responded and said it was a mistake and she would check with "B". "A" emailed me back within an hour saying the "B" would be "reaching out to me soon, by the end of the day, likely and hour." So, here I sit over 48 hours later and now neither A nor B respond to emails.

It took a call to the chief pilot to finally get him interviewed.
It was almost 9 months before I finally got him on the seniority list.
He has finished training and is now flying the line.
Be the squeaky wheel!!
