Hi!

If you are hired, you may go to Polar, or Atlas (both owned by Atlas Holdings).

If you get Polar, you have bases.
If you get Atlas, I believe they will base you in Stansted, England. BUT, they will airline you from your home to STN.

Both you work 17 days in a block, and you have the rest of the month off. I think it is possible that you might get two 17s back to back, but I'm not 100% sure.

Atlas wants to merge the pilot groups. The Polar guys don't. Atlas is in contract negotiations-they want actual home basing for everyone, and a 14/14 schedule. They currently have 2 separate contracts.

That is all I have heard.

Just to clarify, only Polar is hiring. The Polar MEC delay tactics have prevented the merged list with a single CBA. The Atlas MEC is continuing to try to improve the QOL for its members, ie STN gateway. Everyone is waiting for an arbitrator's decision. Allow the Polar MEC to continue its delay or allow the company to present its case to a judge to push the merger through?

There are several very good threads on the above stated questions on here. Use the search tool and bring it up. Cliff's info is close, but not very accurate. PO is the only one hiring right now.

A quick recap of PO work rules:
1) 16 max on - you CAN be extended to 19, but there are lots of rules to it
2) If you do not voluntarily bid back to back trips, you get 7 days off in between.
3) Days off have to be in 1 or 2 blocks no less than 9/5

The contract is available online.

They are having the last class of the year in a week. Its not like it used to be. You are being interviewed for Polar and only Polar. I dont know if that merger is going to go through. There is some really bad karma over there between polar and atlas guys. Not all of them but the feeling is wide spread.
