Default Is this thing on?

I haven't seen a new post since 6/20, I have to wonder;

Did some strange filter kick in and I am not seeing posts?

OR

Is everyone in shock over recent developments and gone into hibernation

Well, half the posts were prospective employees asking about Atlas, and with no hiring happening for a year I can see why the activity has come to a halt.

I concur, but even if 70-80% of posts regarded hiring/training/QOL questions, a 14 day hiatus is still curious.

Not in shock. I pretty much had settled on swapping to the 74 after Christmas once Portland shut down. It was a terrific base while it lasted.

Patiently awaiting the Reallocation Bid preliminary results to see where my career is headed; hoping to hold off on training for 6+ months... and to not be the 76 FO plug.

Does it look like furloughs will be avoidable after they dropped amazon’s business?

Yes. The Union and company seemed to have worked collaboratively to minimize the chaos as much as possible. Things could always change. However, even though some junior captains will be downgraded, there are no furloughs planned.

Downgrades suck, but I’m glad to hear this for everyone affected on balance.

Just to add, those that will be displaced or downgraded are also pay protected for the next year.

It's better this way vs street walkers. Even if downgraded, messing up your preferred schedules, and/or pushed out of your 1st choice base it's hands down better to be employed for the most part if you seek other outfits to fly for being qualified/recency of experience. There will be some stagnation of course and other impacts, but it will pick up most likely after the transitions are closer to completion. Just continue seeking out those large cargo airframes and bringing them on line for future growth will shape our future.

Default Waiting...

It is definitely on. I feel like there is a calm before the end of year re-racking of demand. Does anyone feel like the RTAG convention has become a sort of Fiscal Year/Seasonal benchmark in the way hiring works with Cargo and Pax ops?

I plan on going this year, but don't want to be one of the potential CJO recipients with a 'congrats, your class date is TBD, but we want you...perhaps by summer of '25."

Atlas is still on my list...
