Good Bye Amazon

No joke, this statement is the good stuff and says a lot. Total goodness is in the eye of the beholder. Regardless of anyone else, if you luv it than it's the sh!t. Doesn't matter where you are if you dig that chili. If you can honestly say to yourself - "This is where I am supposed to be and I am happy" that makes it Great! If you can't imagine doing what someone else does and they are perplexed why you do what you do no big deal. It's your one life, live it no one else will.
*Thank Goodness not everyone wants to do the same things in life or there would be no one to do everything else we don't. Not to mention there would be such a cluster at our favorite venues.

Companies, just like people, have different personalities. I guarantee for every company there is 1 pilot who thinks is the best job he/she has ever had, and 1 who thinks it's the worst.... now moving on....

Yep! Why is everyone so fast to think their job is the only one everyone else should want. Note: if everyone else wanted it maybe you wouldnt have it.

Current word is people in training for the 767 right now is getting sent home. I assume you may get a different fleet at best, or your class pushed back at worst.

You don’t need to **** on AA or our “little A-320” to make a point. As far as I know we all fly for a paycheck and QOL, and size doesn’t determine that. Any airline can ****-can you, we’re just numbers to them.
With that being said, I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, Atlas is the coolest job I’ve ever had. AA just pays way better and offers way more flexibility, hands down. If they both paid the same……I’d still be flying the 74 with a smile on my face.

I truly believe that

Just applied last week to Atlas. The aviationinterviews meter has been HOT since January. Was trying to get more SIC time at my current company before being forced from right seat ERJ to left seat CRJ. Heartburn just typing that. Got a reply from Atlas informing me classes are filled for the year. Have also heard Atlas won't be hiring until July of next year. Unhappy

July 2025 is just a guess for future hiring. Average attrition should take care of the excess crews. There very well could be excess attrition due to folks not wanting to fly international long haul, meaning hiring could well resume much earlier. Rumors of more new jets are floating around, but in business nothing is final until the ink is dry on the contract.
Amazon was a terrific niche for many, but in the end Atlas is a global ACMI Airline, not a domestic cargo outfit.
Best of Luck, fly well, and hopefully you'll find your way to a Giant Jet soon.

As Clue mentioned - hopefully the ink will dry on more international contracts as the deficit for long haul cargo aircraft grows significantly. Let our sales and procurement departments loose and nab cash cows before the knowledge spreads to far at Purple or anywhere else for that matter. The foundation has been laid out for decades and with global demand perhaps our future growth will be outstanding and hopefully not spread too thin and remain strong. Right people in the right places at the right time. Timing IS everything.
