Alaska will be getting the Amazon 737 contract to go with their A330 contract they are inheriting. You read it here first.

I wish nothing but the best for my former Atlas colleagues. My buddy just upgraded to 747 captain and is one of the most junior on the property. Hopefully, this displacement will motivate some to move on to other positions in the industry.

It did sound fishy that the 737 slots were "filled for the year". Makes sense now

That's doubtful. But if so, I would be curious to hear why.

I read that and laughed. Good luck receiving anything close to an honest answer.

My guess is Mesa will wind up with the 737's. They lost their DHL contract so they have crew's ready to staff them.

Today I watched the corperate presentiation with some Q and A at the end. I was feeling great about the interview I have scheduled etc. then about About 3 hours later I received this email ....

"We appreciate your interest in becoming a First Officer for Atlas Air, and all the time and energy you put in preparing for the role. Our position has been very competitive and at this time our classes have been filled. We will keep your information on file for future opportunities.

In the interim, please visit our Tailwinds Blog to see the latest Atlas news and remain connected with us.

We appreciate you considering Atlas Air as your career destination, and we are eager to be in touch again soon. Until then, we sincerely wish you every success!

Best regards,

Atlas Pilot Careers"

Sorry to hear that Longbow66. (Keep checking in if still interested where we might be - wouldn't wait if other opportunities knock)

Obviously we are in a transition period hopefully for the better. Unfortunate for those at the closing bases and lifestyles impacted, etc. It's not like there weren't any signs of distancing from those operations a few years ago. Lower profit margins dictated less expansion in those areas vs the greater opportunities driven by the triple and 74. Triple seems to be the way forward with several additions/contracts these past years and a continued growth pattern.

*Greater profit and demand might trickle down eventually- just spitballing, but I wanted to be the first to send good vibes out. I am leading towards the opposite of "misfortune". It wasn't a great move from the start.

Weren't you the guy that said it was ridiculous that pilots were making $300K+ to fly airplanes? Then someone else that knew you IRL showed how completely FOS you are on APC?

I dunno man, sounds to me like we dodged a bullet.
