Short handed or imbalance in staffing as crews transition?
At FedEx our fleets and seats are currently imbalanced as crews transition to the 777 and 767 (our growth fleets).
Both of those fleets are seeing Draft calls, while the other fleets are severly overstaffed.

Is it true that hiring will be resumed pretty soon since atlas is planning to bring more 74s and 77s in?
Was not expecting it to be resumed till next year summer since 767 pilots transition had to be done first but hopefully it is not a rumor.
If it is a rumor, then I am sorry for confusion.

I think AtlasVet clearly articulated the tasks which training must accomplish before hiring can resume.
Two additional items: how will all the successful candidates who weren't offered a job going to be handled, and will past applicants be dropped back in to the process at the same point they were at or will they restart from square one? Those issues should affect when a brand new applicant may get an interview offer.
My poorly-educated guess is new hire classes in June after the 737 folks get going in their transition courses. That means interviews as early as February, maybe. Come back next year to rag on me for being wrong.

Our head of Talent Acquisition addressed the rumors of hiring resuming due to updated job announcements. She stated, via the Pilots of Atlas Air Recruiting page on FB, that the current announcement is purely to attain resumes and maintain an applicant pool.

Under the current system when one has a previous Conditional Job Offer and they have not been brought to class for 6-12 months, they simply update their application and get a warm up interview by one of the Hiring Leads. Then they would be brought onboard.
If they go past 12 months they are required to complete the whole process again, although the interview team members would be aware that they had been successful previously. Now folks have been rejected on the second go around, but it is not common. On a few occasions they may have picked up a blemish or just flat out blow the second interview.
That being said, the situation is very different then where we have been for the last several years. The hiring process has changed significantly and Continuously over the last few years. There could be significant changes when hiring resumes, it is anybodies guess.
They were stacking up screened applicants when the hiring train screeched to a halt. I understand that those is the process already will be given some preference if they are still hanging around.

I assumed this is a trend we would see, however, recently attrition has been slower. Most hiring is down with engine and aircraft delivery issues and layoffs elsewhere in the industry. When things settle down, I also believe that some here that are fond of domestic over international WB will depart the pattern.
