Default Interview coming up

Is there anyone here who have done an interview recently? What's the process after scheduling the phone screening? How is the HR/Tech interview like?

First, congratulations. There's a Facebook group, Pilots of Atlas Air Recruiting which will get the attention of recruiters directly if you have questions. For specifics of what the interview has been like recently, I'll let somebody else fill you in. Don't be shy. Wanting to be here is a good thing.

Best of luck on the interview. I'll be brief here as a search for "Atlas Interview" will yield answers to most of your questions.

Interview is done via MS Teams.

Corporate Presentation. Group format, Camera and Microphone off. About an hour long. You may type questions into the chat at the end.

HR Interview. 1 HR Rep, 1 Captain / LCA, possibly 1 Union Observer. Employment history review; can we spend a week together on the road with you; sincerity of your application; and competency in a highly structured and seniority based crew environment.

Technical Interview: Did you study and learn the material provided? You will get a one page list of topics that may be asked (tailored to you level of experience). You will get a briefing packet of weather, notams, and a Jeppesen SID, Approach, Taxi diagram, and enroute chart.

AviationInterviews.com is a good start, but be very careful as there are some garbage HR answers and some incorrect Technical answers. Check the answers against the reference material, FARs, ACs, etc.

Had an interview recently. Read the gouge on aviation interviews and it will cover everything. The interview is easy BUT it requires some work before you go in. I feel they want to see if you cared at all about the interview to prepare.

HR: They have the same common questions but it is important that you put some thought in for these questions before you go into the interview. Some of the questions that are almost guaranteed are: Intro, why Atlas, how will you prepare for training, how will you deal with the schedule, practical example of CRM, what fleet and why.
Tech: Read the referrence material they send. Can't emphasize this enough but read and understand every word on that sheet, it is not that long. Anything on that sheet is fair game. The biggest goal of the tech interview is not that you know everything but are you trainable? Will you be able to complete the assignment they gave you (the reference material) before you show up for the interview.

I was able to hear back with the offer within a few hours of the interview. Feel free to PM with any other questions.

During the phone screen they ask you about your availability and schedule the interview. After your phone screen but before your interview, you need to attend a company presentation. They have online presentations every Monday at 1400EST.

A lot of people have been getting the interview about 2 weeks after their phone screen.

Good answers here, do your preparation. Also be prepared with the following;

Have your log books squared away and ready to present, sign the pages.

Make sure the dates in your resume and application confirm your job history.

Be prepared to discuss any training or check ride failures, again have the dates available, you will be asked.

Pay attention to the Corporate Presentation, take notes, don't be afraid to ask questions at the end of the presentation or the end of your interviews.

Some candidates get screened at events around the country, there are a few in Miami. All interviews have been conducted via Teams for the last couple of years. We switched to this method with Covid and haven't gone back to live interviews.

My interview was 2 years ago but I doubt the technical sheet will have varied much. Do your research on all items there, even if you don't have experience in the matter because they can and will ask. Domestic regional only flying discussed in the phone screening for my experience and was provided a technical sheet with varying amounts of International questions. My tech panel covered even more of it (in the form of "tell me what you know about: nat tracks with directions and spacing, SLOP, emergency ops during crossings, icao holding and fuel requirements, redispatch points, transition level/altitude, etc"). They want to know you will do your homework and take the time in to looking up things that you might not be familiar with. I found aviation interviews to be a good place to start and then do my own research and verification of the data from there.

My process was: a phone screen, then a teams presentation close to your interview date, and finally teams tech and hr. From phone screen to final interview was about a month due to the limitations of the presentation and my work schedule.

Good luck

I would agree with all of these. I had my interview over 3 years ago and outside of these already mentioned items, I was asked to describe any system on the airplane I was most current in. So know your systems on your current airplane.
