So year 1 is
That’s $70k a year, I know folks flying scenic tours in pistons who make more
So from what I can see, with that math it would take ether 3 years as a FO or a capt upgrade to get to 120k, what any 2500tt guy with some turbine could make flying most anything
This can’t be right can it?
Yet they post this
So basically after thousands of flight hours these 121s expect me to go into the poor house for 2 years, “paying dues” I guess
And frankly the big three ain’t all that much better it seems
Again I’m new to hourly as well as 121 to any clarification would be great

As for getting no call, I would recommend getting to a job fair.. The next one is LPA in September.

1) Hourly rate x monthly guarantee x12. Plug that number into a take home pay calculator for your zip code to get an accurate picture.
UAL, AA, SWA have bases in Chicago that aren’t going anywhere and are quick to hold… two of those fly widebodies and all three usually make better financial sense to go to.

It sounds like they’re using military recruiter tactics painting an overly rosy picture and telling people whatever they want to hear. Come here and make lots of money, see the world, enjoy our great benefits and retirement. Just sign right here and we’ll get you in a class.

You have to go into any situation with both eyes wide open, especially in this industry. You can't 100% believe either the Rosy Company painted picture, or the Horrible Negative Nancy painted picture; it's almost always somewhere in between. Just do your due diligence and research, and talk to as many people as you can that presently work for whatever company you are trying to be a part of, or people that know people if you can't do the former.
We only have ourselves to blame if we end up somewhere we didn't do enough research on prior to signing the dotted line, and ultimately wind up being miserable at said place for whatever reason.

Rubber to the road, real world numbers: On year 3 pay, based on the 8-31 YTD from the most recent pay stub I am projecting $190k +/- . You'll make more elsewhere. Don't know where the company comes up with those whacky numbers. Atlas is what you make of it, and for the most part I like it here hence having not left (although the thought crosses my mind every time I get a 1am wake up call).
