Would it be uncouth to show up with my roll-aboard, flight case, and a big suitcase? I had to pack for four months, so it is a lot. Also, is the crew van big enough that I might hitch a ride to the hotel where I could then cab it to the train station?

Thanks for any advice or recommendations. If I were to try for a commercial flight from MIA to FRA, I will get home a day after my wife's birthday as my sim is mid-day and the schedules just don't jive.
We have pilots that go on every trip with 3-4 bags probably totaling more than you will have. Don’t worry about it. As for the crew van in FRA, somebody else will have to answer that one.

Appreciate the feedback. New folks are always weary of breaking an unwritten rule. I did see that there is a bus every 30 minutes that runs to the north side of the airport which would get me close to the FernBahnHof; just in case the crew is headed downtown.

Look up who the crew is on that flight in Hawk, then look them up on your PCD under “shared schedules”. You can see what hotel they’re going to…assuming they share their schedule.

Sweet, thanks for the tip. No one was assigned yet, but I'll check once September is published.

Just wondering if there have been any talks about allowing OAL pilots on international Jumpseats.

We’ve been asking to resume allowing OAL international jumpseating for a long time. Management has so far said “no”. Latest communication from the union was that it is still closed, but we “are optimistic that it will reopen sooner than later.”

It's kind of ridiculous at this point that there's still an embargo - everywhere except China is functionally open.

Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Thailand, Singapore just to start with are not open, as in they all require hoops from the operating carrier to verify entry requirements.
