Reviving this thread; is it uncommon to be flown out of your home (non base) on the same day as your duty on the 737/767?

76 seems to be a small portion of trips starting with a DH, which would allow you to leave home on your first duty day. JFK is the exception to this, most of their trips start and end with a DH. Junior FO in JFK is an April 2020 hire for some perspective.

I believe a large chunk of the 73 trips do start with a DH, but a 73 guy/gal can confirm.

Thank you much! If your 76 flight departs early to late evening out of CVG or OAK, would you usually be flown out the day before and hotel for the night?

They will want you in base 10 hours prior to your scheduled departure time. If you duty on late night in theory you could arrive in the morning and have the requisite rest. All depends on where you're coming from and where you're going if this is a possibility.

737 is only deadheads on both ends of the pattern. No 737 ever flys into CVG. The 767 JFK base is also almost always a DH on both sides but with the EMA flying that has changed it a bit but it is mostly out of other DHL hubs at the moment.

Just making sure the “hotel” equation was answered if it was even a question? That is provided as well. Many times you can work with travel to negotiate your preferred flight arrival times, airline of preference and preferred seating which should be in the system but wise to solidify while on the ringy dingy.

Does anyone know what based and fleets are junior? How long would it take for a new hire to hold JFK for example.

Junior 747 base is ANC. Junior base for all other fleets is CVG.
Only the 747 and 767 have JFK bases. Junior 747 FO in JFK was a Feb 01, 2021 hire. Junior 767 FO in JFK was a April 20, 2020 hire.
