Atlas: The good...

Thanks for the clarification.
So I clearly overlooked the difference there. I just got assigned to the 74, and I'm here thinking I'd be having a cush commute to AK from S.FL hahah.
I got elite status on 2 of the mayors, but getting an upgrade in the past 8 months has not really been the best since every flight is packed. I guess the more comfy alternative would be jumpseating on one of the MIA-ANC flights?

MIA-ANC looks fairly steady but infrequent and taking a quick snapshot for the next two months as an example = Starting 05/17, 05/24, 05/31, 06/07, and so on every 7 days at 1505z there are departures to ANC from MIA. Out of the 10 flights there are two that do not have a spread of 7 days. 2 and 5 days spread are the anomalies and one of those leave at closer 2000z. Definitely an option as mentioned before, but I wouldn’t bank on it. Atlas is a synonym for change. Good period to rack up points as the man said; it will pay dividends later on.

Yeah, that was not cool at all. I was impacted but fortunate as it really hit/hurt some folks really hard, especially when you’re a new hire at ANC and living deep in the lower 48.

I would say you’re safe to live in Europe once you reach year Two and you’re CVG/ORD/JFK based.
Now living in Europe can mean many things, we talking 30 min outside of Frankfurt or 5 hrs from anywhere?
Pre COVID we had pilots jumpseating on any of the Majors. I’ve done so myself on DL.
Otherwise jumpseat on company airplane from Germany. Life will be easier once the world is back to normal. For instance DL used to have like 3 flights a day AMS-ATL.
If you made ATL your gateway you’d be golden for the above mentioned bases.
