I am just wondering... I know that the legal registration flight time is 100 hours (even for a crew of 4, it cannot exceed 120 hours) and the total is 1000 hours.

Could you explain how I can fly for 160 hours straight?

This was credit hours (hours you're paid for) not block hours (hours you fly). It was also from a post made in 2022 when we were receiving premium pay for COVID flying. These days plan on 64-78 credit hours.

He is referencing monthly hours for pay. Some trips pay a premium because of the destination or trip length. Also, overtime pays extra for the duty day in addition to the trip pay.

Yes, and just to be clear, that post was from when the premium pay was the norm. Gone but not forgotten.

Now to hit 150 hours of credit you need to pick up a trip on days off, which is very difficult for junior pilots.

Not sure if this is the best place for this question, but here goes:

which type would be best suited for part time living in Europe? I would be splitting my time between NYC and Athens, Greece. I am looking into the 76 or 777. Any and all information would be appreciated!

Good question. It's hard to say. The 747 sees Europe as does the 777 on a regular basis. The 767 has trips that start and end in Europe so some months can be great. Others less so. So it depends on where in Europe you are and what some other factors. Also fleets, utilization and trips seem to be changing so... who knows?

Sorry to bump an older thread, but there doesn't look like much movement in the last few months.

I was curious if you'd be willing to share the average flying (block) on the 747 and 777 fleets?
Seems the QOL is similar with the 747 being a bit more volatile on the schduling (per the threads I've read).

Thanks!

777 is more sedate type of flying then the 747.
Expect average 64 hrs min. guarantee on the 77.
On the 74 I’d say a realistic number is 74-75 average over a year.
If you’re talking pure flying some months on the 77 are as low as 35hrs block.

Thanks! Yes I was wondering pure flying hours, I just sit around at my current gig so I'd rather be in the air (at least for a few years).

Default 737 Training Location

Can anyone confirm if all of the Atlas 737 training is accomplished at the training center in Miami? Thanks!

You will be training in Miami. A combo of the Atlas Training Center and Boeing Sim Building.
