Just really how your experience has been at Atlas on the 747 as a whole. Thanks!
MIA is senior. Guy I know is FO there. He turned down DAL class date, because he is home 20-22 days/month, and is making enough money for his family.
He is not going to go to capt anywhere but MIA. We now have 777 MIA base...

MIA isn't that senior right now. You can hold it while still in training.

This obviously is subject to change, but right now the traditional "MIA is senior" adage is not accurate.

Well currently the most junior pilot is an April 2022 hire so pretty senior compared to all the other bases and he could expect to be on the bottom of that list for quite a while.

I’m 25% in ANC and 65% in MIA, that’s senior to me. Less senior than before, sure.

On that note, if the FO Seniority has fallen to the newer crowd - has the 10yr or whatever til Capt faded a bit as well? Don’t really care, just curious and lazy.

My guess is it hasn’t, not much at least. The real movement is on the bottom 30-40% of the list. I remember doing this sim with a 15 year MIA CA, and he was telling me he could barely hold a primary line. Not sure if he was exaggerating a bit but….

Don’t believe that Capt was exaggerating at all. Flew with an 18yr MIA Capt about 6 months after the last contract start date and she wasn’t picking up any primary lines. May have changed, but she wasn’t very happy at all. Hope it’s changed at least a little bit especially if several have moved to the triple.

I had a nice chat with a top 5 MIA FO while riding the JS from FRA, he was in no hurry to upgrade. He had a terrific QOL, essentially always getting his days, and made a boat load of money with OT. Quite possibly made more as a FO than he might as a CA.

Senior FO’s do extremely well being able to hold preferred lines, schedules and the ability to snag the best OT depending upon availability (especially these past couple of years). Depending on base and how eager folks are to jump on a guaranteed increase in pay at bare minimum rates you can do very well to hold out for awhile and move up. If you have a few plugs like myself stovepiping upward mobility then maybe it’s better just to move left for that guaranteed raise. Gets better with time somewhat and the variables of the economic environment, but there is no doubt a senior FO can surpass their own Capt rate depending on their longevity of course. OT isn’t my game, quality of life is and I met a few peers and a couple of other CA’s a year or two senior that I surprisingly surpassed. No doubt if I hammered out some OT it would be easy $. Met a few senior Capts doing quite a bit of OT = can’t touch their checks. Bottom line, it will equalize with no extra cheddar and the itch for the left will increase aside from yours truly. Hard to give up QOL if that’s the priority.

*Just me - No reason to look left unless Apollo and friends raises one of my eyebrows.

Just curious how long it would take to bid a 17/13 rotation in either the 73 or 76?
