Atlas Air Fleet Type differences
Guys, as has been said numerous times; split lines (60 days) exist on 74, 76 and maybe 737. You average about 6-10 days on, and then have anywhere from 5-10 days off, and repeat. There are lines with 15 days off and even 16, but guess what, they go senior. Fixed pattern lines are 17/13 or 14 for the entire year. The 2 weeks on/2 weeks off is simply ‘slang’ for what we do, and don’t forget you normally travel out on your last day off to where ever you begin your next tour.

Hi,
Can you bid for 17/13 fixed line, or you just get what you’re given on seniority?
Thanks.

They just had a bid for entire 2023 year. They were fixed pattern lines that started on the same day of each month and were all 17/13 or 14. There were a maximum amount per base and CVG having the largest amount of 13 lines. It definitely benefits some, and I can see junior guys bidding if their priority is specific days off throughout the year. Now, this window just closed a week ago so I’m not sure how that goes for guys who are yet to join the company.

I recommend saving the workout for the hotel to be honest. This is coming from someone who work out all the time on layovers.

However, on long flights you are likely to have 2-3 guys trying to sleep somewhere in the back and they might not appreciate the jumping jacks. I for one am not crazy about working out with a cabin altitude of 8000’ and saved it for the hotels or long walks.
