Mmmmmm, chocolate cake! Not good enuff to pull the trigger until I see the lines but that cake, etc would kill me quicker - Yum…. Maybe, or maybe not quicker than our stuff but my waistline has been stagnant which helps the fasting method

If I live in Cincinnati with no plans to move is Atlas worth taking a look at spending a career at?
To me, one the surface, it seems appealing to never have to commute albeit having overall less benefits than somewhere else.

Depends on aab airline is to provide you in order to spend a career at. Right now, pay and retirement lags career carriers like Fed Ex, UPS, Majors, LCCs. But you will have good opportunities to have awesome QOL living in a Atlas base.

With that said most of us who are still here are here for a reason, and not because we don't have options. If you live in CVG you could do worse. There are other carriers that may likely work work you at CVG too. We're not the worst egg to have in your basket of options.

In 2011 we were better than a lot of places including most LCCs. Since then we've lagged behind other places, especially in retirement, disability, etc. With the new contract who knows?

Getting the experience to be a Captain on the equipment we fly and the places we operate is no small task. Somebody with significant jet PIC experience or somebody with significant experience in similar aircraft/operation can make the transition to Captain pretty quickly...but what about the pilot that arrives with zero PIC, zero large aircraft, and zero international experience? Those pilots will take a while to get up to speed. Plus, there are some pilots that just aren’t capable of single pilot...we all know people like that.
Management would love to cut the required number of pilots in half...but it’s just not realistic...maybe not in the term of any of our careers reading this.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you here. I've heard from a reliable source that a portion of the contention with negotiating this upcoming CBA concerned exactly this.
In my humble opinion, any pilot in their 30s should be planning their personal financial situation to not depend on a paycheck from an airline job by the time they are in their 50s.

Why? Do you think there’s a possibility of going to no pilot ops in that timeframe? Even if cargo did manage to go to single pilot ops within the next 20 years, the 30 year old today will undoubtedly have enough seniority to keep their job on this hypothetical 20 year time horizon.
