From where? If you are in the Northeast then consider Amtrak to Penn Station and having Travel setup a limo to the hotel. I never had a problem getting the company to pay for either the ticket or the limo.

Default type/base assignment

I understand HR assigns type - after indoc? And base you pick based on class ranking after aircraft ground?

HR assigns aircraft based on what you are hired onto and everyone goes to the junior base of the fleet you hired into until you have seniority to hold another base.

HR offers class dates by airframe, so you know your assignment prior to indoc. Jr base for the 74 is ANC, Jr base for everything else is CVG.

Thanks everyone for all the info.

App is in, internal recs are in sounds like ive probably got a good wait before ill get a call. Lots of competition out there.

One more question before I disappear back in to the shuffle of life and forget to check up on the ole apc for the next 6 months.

Whats the average line credit across the fleet?

Can one credit at least 80 hours on the 767, 777, or 747 with an average line and without overtime and how available is picking up extra trips from open time on each fleet?

For the 767, the most you can possibly credit is about 82 hours. To get that much is exceptionally uncommon. Average line values are probably between 65-75 hours. Minimum guarantee for year 1 is 50 hours, after that it is 62. You should make sure that your budget can work on minimum guarantee because regardless of what you bid or are awarded, your credit can be reduced to minimum for a wide variety of reasons (and that is true of all fleet types).

Of course, this info is all based on our current CBA. What the next CBA will look like is anyone’s guess, but I wouldn’t bet the farm on it looking drastically better than what’s above.

Best of luck with getting on here. In spite of all our many problems, I personally still really enjoy working here. We have a tremendous pilot group. As is true everywhere, life here is what you make of it. I choose to make it something enjoyable.

Much easier on the 77 or 74 to get a high value line, although without bid line guarantee, it doesn’t mean much if they change your schedule. Open time tends to go senior. Best of luck.
