Does anyone have a current bead on the number of applications being received, and the turnaround from application submission to interview/no interview? I’m assuming the mass rush of mid-2020 has calmed a little since a few months has passed since the Compass/TSA/XJT exodus (and government money furlough recalls).
I’m not out of work — just thinking about broadening long term career goals. I’ve read back about 50 pages in this thread, just looking for most recent info.

But I do know for a fact, Atlas is still losing pilots to retirement, FDX and UPS. The hiring will remain strong throughout 2021 just due to those 3 factors.
When the pax carriers are fully recovered around 2022/23 Atlas retirements will be peaking and the attrition will be as hot as ever.
If you're interested in the slightest way, just put in your apps and forget about everything else. This isn't the Hotel California: You can't always check in, but if you do, you can always check out.

For my friends that had interviews, they all had an internal rec. My interview invite came the day after I got someone to put in a rec for me. My friends that put an app in last year and haven’t interview didn’t have a rec. so I feel like those are weighted really heavily right now. Hopefully you know someone.
that being said, I would agree with the above poster to put in the app because it doesn’t hurt to have it in there

I put my app in back in jun 2020 and I had an interview in dec. I have no class date yet, just in the hiring pool.

Internal recs never hurt? Those who threw in last Mar/Apr or earlier were ahead of the viral curve as I have flown with plenty of them. Haven’t flown a pattern for months without an OE, Capt Upgrade or Check Airman upgrade clustered here and there. Lines around the cargo outfits were building then, but you do have apps out elsewhere I hope. Unsure what looms on the horizon or we’re just stacking nuts for the lean times. We seem to still be crushing our training department so keep the faith.

Do you know anyone who was at TSA / Compass / ExpressJet? College buddies or old flight school friends? We have hired hundreds of those guys and gals. Maybe someone you haven’t spoken to in a few years has ended up here. It might not be ideal, but whatever you can do to get an internal Rec will definitely help you.

As for a potential new hire. Few questions:
1. Are new hires still being hired into the 777? And is that going to continue for the future?
2. How are the lines for the 777? 16 on 14 off or 17 or 13 off or is it different?
3. How's the success rate for training for the 777?
