Admittedly, I’m pretty naive to pilot contracts when going through the arbitration process. How do arbitrators determine what’s appropriate for improvements or concessions? I’m assuming they’re using ‘industry standard’ (however they come to that conclusion) in the equation. By that standard, Atlas pilots should be spooled up for improvements to pay rates at a minimum, but I could see how scope could be difficult. When it comes to compensation/benefits and work rules, do they look at the industry as a whole, other cargo or charter operators, fleet type, etc.?

This is so perfect you almost wonder if management coordinated it across the industry. Something like: "We'll make being a regional pilot so sh*tty that Atlas will seem like a good deal. They'll have completely forgotten how good airline pilots used to have it."
Truly impressive.

Plan on making guarantee for a good while. Even after you get some seniority it’s wise to budget for guarantee until we have line protection.
