Absolutely this is the case. Well probably be back here again in 2024 with a massive pilot shortage and people trying to offer visas

Ive been in aviation for a while.
We’ve got a whole generation of pilots ( certificated after ‘12-‘13) that have known nothing but good fortune and quick changes and have never experienced a black swan event.

Wii you guys that had class date at the big 3 take it and run from Atlas once you get called? In about 2 years from now I’m guessing.

Does anyone know what the current/typical hotel is being used for initials in MIA? Have a class date coming up in June and was told I would get the specific hotel info, flight, etc. about a week out. Just was curious so I could start researching the area. Thanks!

They use 3-4 different hotels maybe more depending on class sizes and recurrents.

I might misunderstand your question. But anyone who has a class date with the big 3 but is not yet on the seniority list has nothing. In fact in past downturns it was not unheard of for new hire classes already on the property to be sent home with no job and no promises for anything in the future.

I have seen comments in other threads that seem to indicate that some pilots with CJO emails think that they just have to wait this out. Maybe this time will be different, but I very much doubt it. You do not have a job until you have a seniority list in your hand that has your name on it. A more cautious person would go so far as to say "off probation".
