Manila
Any recommendations on things to do in Manila?
I don't need any help with specific accomodations but any areas of the city to avoid staying in?
Any good sights to see in a short visit there? Corregidor island? (I'd like to spend more time and go up to the Banaue terraces someday and trapse around the rest of Luzon but won't have time this trip). Thanks! First visit, and might be quite some time before I get there again.

Don't go out alone at night if you can help it. Good luck!

Corregidor is a day trip, and costs about $40 bucks or so for the tour.
There is an American cemetery there that is pretty cool to check out; thousands of US soldiers from WWII left behind there.
Makati is pretty much the nice part of town, some good spots to hang out down there in the Greenbelt Mall. Cafe Havana comes to mind.
On the weekend nights, lots of people enjoy the Fort in Taguig, some live music venues there.
