Default Combine Domestic and International

I am not sure it will happen that quick. I wish it would but supplemental C which deals with TWA Captain jobs specifically says domestic. The problem is in Miami 767 flying. Right know all MIA 767 Domestic is done by former TWA pilots. If you combine D and I they will of course keep the jobs. As we get rid of the 767 the AA pilots will be displaced off the 767 to in most cases lower paying jobs. That is a hornets nest about to be stirred up. DFW and the S80 is less of a problem.

What will happen to STL?

Uhhh....WE train, YOU fly. My certificate says B757/767. We can fly it just as well as those "superior" LAA pilots can, with just reading the manual.

That would be an issue if the combination of D & I benefitted the pilots. Since it doesn't I suspect there will be a quick fix.

APA certainly didn't think so!

(Don't shoot the messenger)

Assign? As in involuntary? Most TDY's are bid by commuters. Hotel room, per diem, and positive space commute.

Overall there are still TDY's.

To clarify: all MIA 767 D *captain* slots are filled by ex-TWA guys. The FOs are (mostly? all?) legacy AA.

Complaining is the easiest thing to do. It is neither a good strategy or a good negotiating tactic. It's not productive and makes us look like unprofessional crybabies.

I was involuntarily assigned a month of TDY two years ago when they were standing up the bus in Miami. There were a couple months when the junior guys in LAX were getting that deal. Wouldn't have been bad ( a month in the Sherry) if it hadn't been December. I had a reserve line with a couple two day "week ends". Not enough time to make it back to California. My teenagers were to busy to go to Miami to hang out with dad by the pool.

I have a question in regards to the original title of this thread.
What are the chances of a new hire getting assigned to DFW right out of school and about how long before one could hold a line?
