Do you think that the company isn't clamoring for scope relief? Why should we align ourselves with the union that's also representing the regionals that in he last 20 years have taken over SO MANY of the routes we once flew? Oh yeah, and pay double the dues while doing it?!?
If we could get an all legacy union, I think that'd be a great idea and a powerful entity, but ALPA is a giant conflict of interest as it's set up.

Because APA has never once negotiated a contract in the same league as an ALPA carrier? I'd take the DL, UA, or FDX Alpa negotiated contracts any day.
Just more evidence the APA clown show will continue unabated.

Your dream jobs are all hiring, try not to make the RJ Napoleon complex so obvious in the interview...

As I have previously stated, I do NOT blame APA in its structure, rules, bylaws etc. BUT the people running APA. You can change to ALPA, USAPA, Teamsters etc. NOTHING will chance if you have the same (horror) clowns running the(ir) show.

This is spot on. I figured APA would be a good shop looking out for just the mainline guys. Turns out APA is just looking out for APA. They're also not very bright. Forget who says it but he's right: need to "drain the swamp."

$500 an hour would be wonderful. However, with the lack of work rules, who care how much it is if you're never home to spend it?

I'd rather work on getting APA unified and headed in the right direction than change to ALPA because we have a bankruptcy JCBA that needs improvement. I know Dan Carey and I think he's much more capable than his predecessor at taking a hardline until we see the improvements that we desire. Give the man a chance. He's coming into his term with a bunch of ****ed off pilots from several different groups. He knows that change is needed, but it can't just be manufactured overnight. We have 2 years until early openers, how do you think a change to ALPA is going to make those 2 years any different?
