Wow.
Fenced off of "East metal" means all East aircraft are fenced for the East and none for the West. I guess the West is included in LAA metal ? Plus, No Nic and since that, no Nic-based AAPSIC proposal, meaning LAA loses. No furlough credit, "heavy" LOS weighting (favors East) and my, my.......if that isn't a Grand Slam windfall, I don't know what is.
With a result like that, it's no wonder the only people gloating and singing like Beverly Sills about the arbitration results via diarrhea of the mouth in public are East pilots. Keeping it classy, I see. Anyhoo, should all this gloating and singing turn out to be bunk, you do realize you'll be mercilessly ridiculed for it, yes ?
Personally, I'd be uneasy if I were conducting myself with such brash bravado prior to the release of the ISL, but I guess that's how things are done in the East.

As for being fenced off the East's WBs, none of us have any idea whether that actually happened. However, if that's the end result, the West asked for that outcome when they demanded to be treated as separate with their own representation at the table. They won the preliminary arbitration fair and square! Good for them, but what that meant was that they brought what they brought to the merger: NB flying in a low yield hub. It's a choice I wouldn't have made, because as such they could only pretend they had any WB aircraft. Whether and/or when they would have ever flown a US Airways WB is a matter of pure speculation, something arbitrators should probably avoid. Therefore, sad to say, I believe that fencing the West off WB for a period of time is appropriate. To argue otherwise is to have two groups laying claim to one group's equity, in this case the East A330/350s (A350s were ordered long before 2005.) Had the West remained with East, pooling their equities together in unity, then of course the result should be different. But if the rumor is true that the West gets no WB credit and remains fenced, well, you guys can look back and see where your egos got the better of you (yet again.)
Finally, as an administrative note, I lied: I'm not really a pilot for Republic

I think it's pretty funny everyone is getting all worked up over a couple people claiming to know what the results of the SLI are. Maybe they do...Or they could be trolls..I've yet to read anything on here that would lead me to believe that anyone knows what they're talking about.
