It does matter what slot is being filled and where the pilot filling it comes from equipment-wise, not so much where the pilot comes from airline-wise.
There is no bump no flush, but if the company wants to move fleets around then lots of bumping occurs... and a lack of fences would allow flushing and training requirements. Fences could prevent flushing.

It will be what it will be.

Anyone who correctly guesses the SLI release date (at least one day prior) should be awarded 777 FO. Correctly predicting it seven days prior deserves a 777 captain bid.

I believe you are correct. There will be a scramble to exchange bases but otherwise it would just be a normal (for most people) equipment bid.

We are seriously short staffed in PHX, on both fleets. Even if the ompany decided to shrink PHX as a base we would still be short. On the 757 we have had a half dozen retire so far this year with a few more to go. Our HI flying isn't going away, and it's real hard to fly through PHX to the islands from another base so we need more crews. We have mostly slash trips so we are burning through crews every month, 6 to 7 trips. On the f/o side reserve is so senior that the bottom 10 f/os are line holders.

The big question after the SLI is published will be if the company puts out a firm base/fleet plan. It would totally suck to bid something in October only to see your seat disappear the followeing summer.

I would be totally stunned to see any leak of the list before the arbitrators release it. I don't think that will be until after the first week of August, because of the timeline of the comment periods. The lawyers sure don't want the list leaked, that is a very small fraternity of RLA lawyers and you wouldn't want to antagonize an arbitrator that you will be working with in the future.

"Playing games"? Exactly what does that mean?

The BOA has been very good at dealing with all kinds of interference. Even the 9ths last minute ruling didn't really slow the BOA down too much. The BOA set the committees, ensured fairness, and pressed ahead. At this point, how could any committee "play games". The hearings are concluded. Comments and rebuttals are the only remaining input (and we know that's just eyewash).

What "games" are available to "play"? Seriously?

Are you kidding? Usapa's little withdrawal stunt cost 6 months. Don't know what the game is but one of the parties isn't abiding by the 15 day timeline and requested 40 freakin days to "review" the draft, that ain't playing games in your mind?

So you are saying the New East committee is asking for 40 days to review? Is that what you are saying?

If so I wouldn't call it "playing games" or worry too much. The BOA has no obligation to accept requests, and the BOA hasn't allowed anyone to slow the process. The BOA has been imminently fair, reasonable, and judicious. I don't expect them to change now.

I'm not saying it's the east, it could be any of the 3. What I'm saying is one party is abusing the comment period, and the boa is letting them.

So now you are saying the BOA is granting a 40 day extension? Is that what you are saying?

You can't confirm which Committe asked for an extension, much less even explain said committee's rationale for requesting an extension, yet you boldly say said committee (one of the three, but you don't know which one) is "abusing the comment period" because the BOA "let them".

A glass of iced tea and a rocking chair might aid your patience while you wait.
