Ups,
A few years back my family of 4 including me had a last minute family issue to go to. We were non revving and missed a flight (east crew) hours earlier.
The next flight had 3 open in the back and jump seats availible!. So I'm thinking we're golden and I was in uniform so no problem... Long story short the west captain said I was not gonna be riding along that day. I got my family back in the car and we drove home. My wife's mother ending up passing away a week later and we ended up just buying tickets for the funeral.
That was a very roach like move considering I never denied a jump seat in my life. I'm sure any moment the west faithfuls will be along to tell me that didn't happen.

I'm sorry for your family's loss, and that the mourning period and memory has to be stained by West pilot secretions. These guys have always been such a class act. Their videos will live on forever as proof. Snotty children with epaulettes, and WD and CB53 typify the lot of 'em.

Haha easy there, R57...you know how difficult it is to see things from two perspectives from inside a fishbowl. Everything's all convex and convoluted and whenever anyone else looks in through the glass they appear all big and scary, and so then the fish (the west) take on a righteous posture and claim the high moral ground and feign great gobs of integrity and strict adherence to process and protocol and.....and.....and then they call in sick and write to management to negotiate behind our backs to rescind our bid
