Read the words and really just think about it and then ask yourself why.

Wiskey,
How do you personally interpret this message?

Well I am looking at it the way they are looking at it. There was a bid run in the east that was posted in AUG for JAN. Now this is not that unusual as there is always an east bid run for Jan but it normally takes place in OCT. The urgency to do this run two months early is only slightly concerning but doing it on the eve of the release of an SLI award is quite a bit more concerning. Why the need to do it so early and in the face of this pending award? I believe the company knows the results and certain members of the APA hierarchy know as well. APA certainly did not do this for some great west cause, they did it because some of them feel slighted with this company move.

To be completely honest with you the company and all 3 groups have seen the complete list. When I hear west pilots saying that only pieces of the list were delivered that is not true. I'm not sure the exact reason west leadership would say that but your guess is as good as mine.
This move by the apa has something to do with the final results of the list.

I sent an email to President Carey asking where the concern was for the Dec LAA only bid and did they try to delay it?

In so far as the 3 groups have seen the final produce you may indeed be correct. I think at this juncture it's no longer even worth discussing that point. The statements made by Robert Isom and this latest move by APA have a significant meaning. Now what exactly that is will remain to be seen, however I do not believe it will be in vain.

I interpret it as they feel like the award was very unfair to them.

WD,

When John contacted the Company it was a request from West. He may be an APA BOD but National issues aren't handled by base reps. APA had a potential DFR issue brewing if they stayed quiet. So APA National made a statement. APA has now represented the West pilots interests. Wouldn't read too much into this. If the Company does reconsider then APA will have another mess on their hands with the East. Bet they are privately hoping the Company does nothing. It's not that they have anything against the West it's just they don't want to get in the middle of this brawl.

Well??? How??

The reason I say that is because if you know the results already does it really make sense to make that as your argument if you did care for the results? That doesn't really make sense in that regard. Now it would make sense if they could hold something and are being withheld due to the company making this move months early.

Ok I can see where you get that. I don't see a basis for a DFR simply due to that fact that the company always runs this bid and doing so two months early can easily be explained away. There would be no need to send what would clearly be a hollow threat to management. APA would have better been served by not making this public statement.

I guess I could sit here and speculate all night and end up being totally incorrect. The true reason will soon make itself known I'm sure

I think you answered your own question. What exactly did John say was the easy explanation he agreed with?

If he disagreed and there is even the slightest basis he has a point is APA not culpable if they didn't support his request?
