SO - Where's the SLI?
#1301
FYI, there's a graphic on AAPilots (I think) that shows LAA bids planned for Nov, Dec and January as well (no mixing). So I doubt the LUS-E bid is some conspiracy to screw the West guys. Vacancies will exist prior to February 2017 and they'll need to be filled.

I didn't say one word about fatigue calls out West yet you claim some illusory victory in that you have proved the fatigue calls are not what I have "tricked" myself into believing?
The West reps invented the fishbowl metaphor due to stagnation, the opposite of turbulence. I simply made an observation comparing stagnate water and turbulent water. Seems like turbulent water is better. Soon enough we'll all get to jointly benefit from the turbulence!

I don't see why he thinks one last bid would make much difference after we have had bids for ten years.
I don't think there are any conspiracies. It's just time for a new bid and we don't have the new SLI yet. There isn't any intrigue and drama in that. It is what it is.

756 CA went to pilots with 4-5 years on property pre-merger because of the one-sided bid. Endless reserve for them.
Live and learn.

If you go back and really look at what you've said I am certain you will notice the very critical flaw in your line of thinking. It's not about the money? Why do it then for the love of being in the air away from your spouse and children growing up? No sir it's all about the money, always has been always will be. Second you stated " I wasn't about to let you guys take our group 4's that we earned. " The west pilots were not taking anything that was not awarded. This is the critical flaw that paid Parker and made Glass rich. There was a process and each party participated in that process without prior reservations AND allowed it to play out. Neither party had control over the outcome. The neutral 3rd party that you picked and we followed made a decision. The east then fixated upon west pilots as the instrument of their destruction. Hundreds of thousands of dollars lost, unity lost, trust lost and it gets worse from there. AA has a very rich history in distrust among their pilot ranks, there are no less than 5 different groups all with different views. The west hates the east and vice versa, TWA hates LAA and vice versa, I don't know how the Reno guys feel today and maybe one may chime in. There is a significant group of pilots that want a return to ALPA and a group that wished to make APA work. There is also that group that just doesn't care either way and they don't even bother to vote. To management this seems to be the perfect stew with some many pulling in different directions its no wonder why management so wantonly disregards our contract provision. The pilots have presented management with a platter of give backs and trust me when I tell you, Parker loves to take provisions and sell them back to you at a much greater cost. Looking for better in the next contract? Don't count on it.

I actually love to fly yes making 215k a year would have beat 125k no doubt! But seeing all you guys coming into our bases taking our widebody jobs just wasn't gonna fly. I would have rotted on loa 93 till the west and 3rd listers out numbered us I truly mean that. My kids both went to private colleges, own a boat, small light aircraft, luxury home and worked hard for it all. Yes I will admit there were times I would be ashamed to say I worked for us airways during loa 93 but in the end you still don't have the nic because a contract was never implemented. My retirement is just fine and so is my wife's my dignity probably cost me 1/2 a million easy but who's counting I would do it again. How is that for an ignorant usapian.

If that's how you feel there is not a soul on this earth that can change it. I certainly hope it comes out like you want it to because a very steep price has been paid otherwise. 500k lost is a home nice home in 85255 but as you've indicated it was far more important to drive this forever wedge between the pilots. I actually applaud your honesty in this regard as it shows the true selfish nature of usapians and how it has cost this airlines pilots so much.

Even if I could buy a mansion in the fishbowl for 100k I would never live there. It's so hot I now understand why u guys are always having breakdowns. Just be realistic going forward integrity and selfish behavior was way past the point of return since 06. We're both committed to our positions. I know a lot of other guys on our side disagree with me but I also know a lot more that would have gladly retired on loa 93.

Wait, are you suggesting the West should have been open to renegotiating the agreed upon results, AFTER Nic ruled, at Wye River? Weren't you recently asking me if I would accept the results of the this latest award and move forward, no matter what? I respect most of what you say but I'm finding this cherry picking a little disingenuous.
