I may be in the minority on this one, but why the personal attacks on Doug Parker all the time? Judging him on his management skills and or his business ethics seems like fair game. Making jokes about his DUI and or possible problem with alcohol seems immature and mean, and what does it accomplish?

I think if you ask any substance abuse professional, virtually all would agree that those with multiple DUI's not only have a definate substance abuse problem, but possibly even other psychological issues that are demonstrated by repeatedly placing the safety of others at risk for their own interests despite having already been exposed to the consequences. One could argue one DUI was a mistake and/or a moment of bad judgement, but not multiples.
The FAA grounds Airline Pilots for this very reason. Are the keys to a multi-billion dollar corporation much different then that of a car or plane in the responsibility department ?

As far as management skills, I think that should be judged on how well he has lived up to the promises made when he took over AA.

I actually thought that when he spoke (we all know what they think, but dumb ones verbalize it) "why pay profit sharing when your employees have little to do with whether you make a profit anyway" comment told you all you need to know about him....

My point is that taking cheap shots at Doug Parker's personal shortcomings undermines whatever valid criticism you have about his management skills. Sort of like when some overweight person acts like a jerk, and instead of calling them out on their behavior, you just call them fat.
