Swapped my DAL fastpass for AA--not sure if it's the right move but oh well...in reading the thread on AA hiring this year and the forecasted "low" numbers of OTS guys, why would AA be making such a push to informally talk to people at these conferences? I attended OBAP last Aug and thought it went well but all the interviewers said the same thing...no one knows any rhyme or reason to the process. Hopefully these conventions and for me more specifically swapping my DAL pass bring about some type of positive outcome.

Hiring is still 730(last word I heard). It's been 725, 730, and 750.

I have no special connections. Just listen to what the company says.

BNUT - if guys want to talk to AA we talk to them. It's been the goal since FAPA MIA Jan 2014. A seven hour window there lasted 12:45. It wasn't going to happen this year but the powers that be were able to figure out a way to make it work.

I think the big variable is we are nearing the end of recall rights. In a couple of months, people who could come back will hit the deadline. After that date, they drop off the list.

Maybe AA is thinking that fewer of them are coming back than anticipated.

Just hedging their bets.

One of the WAI hiring helpers is a P-3 guy so expect them to get a fair shake as well.

FWIW, I heard AA is doubling the slots due to not being allowed to speak with anyone not holding a fast pass. (as told by an AA hiring email)

Well, I just swapped my southwest fast pass for American, hope I'm doing the right move, as well.

How were you able to swap your slot? I'm trying to change mine from the morning to the afternoon but every time I've checked it says "no availability".
