But you said those rights NEVER existed, not that the extension shouldn't have happened. If they did exist as it is obvious they did and were a product of the JCBA APA was a party to, doesn't a union leadership (BOD) have the right to alter contractual provisions they negotiated ? It's a good question (and good to question) that such actions are done for acceptable reasons and it will be up to APA to communicate those reasons and demonstrate they were appropriate. Again, we shall see on that. But that situation has little to do with what other supposedly autonomous integration committees propose or advocate. It looks as though the West is piling on perceived injustices all based on the rest of the planets unwillingness to consider the Nicolau award THE preeminent factor in this merger/integration. I still can't connect the dots between recall rights and proposed fences to protect PMCE (a concept BTW the West says really shouldn't apply in this SLI ) though.

As for APA "inserting itself", aren't they the entity that ensures the process is fair ? 17.E was set to expire in January 2016 and wasn't that based on all aspects of the integration including SLI being completed by then ? If that had occurred, theoretically affected pilots would have had the opportunity to take advantage of 17.E. by then, but since everything has been pushed back, extending that provision to maintain the present status quo might, but not necessarily be the correct move. Again, let's see what they have to say about it. That letter though is simply intended to magnify what the West believes to be an endless series of injustices by an ever increasing cast of bad actors and IMO is probably targeting to some degree, a specific audience, that being the arbitrators.

If what you say is true, wouldn't it give you MORE confidence then less that the arbitrators will see the sea of treacherous fish including the Sharks in the BOD feeding on the hapless West minnows and act accordingly giving you more rather then less in regard to your SLI demands ?

Don't forget the treachery of APA, the hostility of AAPSIC (who now offers more consideration of the Nic) and the indifferent savagery of AAG management.

"Malfeasance of East Pilots" a yellow lanyard, a safety slowdown and a two engine taxi not very effective.
Delaying the NIC for eight years or forever.
Priceless.

Bottom line america west pilots are suddenly concerned about a few years of wages. The history of america west pilot wages does not reflect your current attitude;

If I had been paid those rates I would keep my mouth shut, as a AW pilot, but that's just me.

They felt guilty for giving away our profit sharing

I don't think so. If they did I missed it. They did argue that absent this merger we would have been stuck on LOA 93, but I think everyone understands that on day one of the merger we were all on the same pay scale. How the panel weighs all of that? Who knows?
