Default Deferred A320 Neo Orders

American Airlines pushes back delivery of Airbus A320neo jets - Yahoo Finance

Any thoughts...this to me seems like a bad thing from a pilot perspective but I can see what DP is doing amongst capacity angst by shareholders. Anyone care to chime in with any thoughts...

Still trying to wrap my mind around how this place is run and if we are going to do well as the "New American"

If you want to hear it, the "good" rumor is we are deferring and waiting for the 321NEOs with Long Range tanks...

And we are also deferring 787-8 deliveries for the -9s

oh, and unicorns too.

Could be a bad thing but lots of time for good things to balance that out.

Are those deferred a/c replacing current ones or added to the current fleet?

At least they're not deferring RJ orders.

Maybe someone just figured out that taking a 321 Neo across the NAT isn't such a great idea. Just like their about to find out the 321 Hawaii birds are a bad idea.

I'd be a lot happier taking a 321 NEO on the NATRAC than going to Hawaii. You can do 120 or even 60 min ETOPS on the NATRAC. It's purely 180 ETOPS in the CEPAC. And wait until they try LIH with a wet runway. I just did my first flight in there in 6 years. I liked having the performance of the 757. Not a lot of runway for the airbus if the runway isn't dry or there are performance adjustments to be made.

Umm, yeah, I really do. 15000 hours in the bus and 3500 in the 757, all PIC. I have a pretty good understanding of what they will and will not do.
